We are proud to share that WBK Engineering has finalized a sole source, direct award indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with the Indian Health Service (IHS) to provide planning services on IHS projects over the next two years. We have enjoyed seeing the exhibition, “Nwi Yathmomen, We Will Tell Our Story,” develop over the years and are proud of Seven Generations Architecture & Engineering for being selected to design the framework through which the vision of Co-curators Dr. John Low and Ojibwe artist Andrea Carlson comes to life. If you are in the #Chicago area, be sure to visit the Marquette Building to experience the new exhibit! Those interested can also read about it here: https://lnkd.in/gdauEEuE #EmbracingCulture #HighlightingHistory #ExhibitDesign #IndigenousHistory #Potawatomi #NativeArt
It has been over four years since 7GAE began working with Co-Curators Dr. John Low, a professor of American Indian and Museum Studies at Ohio State University and Pokagon Band of Potawatomi citizen, and Andrea Carlson, MFA (Ojibwe), on the exhibit “Nwi Yathmomen, We Will Tell Our Story.” The project began at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the spatial intervention that the curators envisioned presents Native presence, perspectives, and physical appearance in an authentic and non-historicizing way. Alexander Hokkanen, 7GAE Project Coordinator and Lead Project Designer, has been instrumental in the completion of this project and recently shared his reflections on the importance of Indigenous art and history now on display. “Our design goal was to bring the Co-curators' vision to life,” Alex said. “Conceptually, the ‘exhibition as intervention’ is a direct refutation of the narratives depicted in the lobby of the Marquette Building. The glass murals designed by Louis Tiffany and Jacob Adolph Holzer illustrate a glorified version of Marquette’s travels and death but are also riddled with inaccuracies regarding the Indigenous people of this area.” Now open to the public, the exhibition serves to inform and remind visitors that Bodéwadmikik ėthë yéyék: You Are on Potawatomi Land. We encourage everyone to read more about the exhibit in this Chicago Sun-Times article by Erica Thompson: https://lnkd.in/gdauEEuE #EmbracingCulture #HighlightingHistory #Chicago #ExhibitDesign #IndigenousHistory #Potawatomi #NativeArt

Last evening, many members of the Bodwé Federal Support Services Branch attended the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) at Topgolf event to raise awareness and funds for the TAPS mission to assist and support surviving military families. The event was superb, and over 180 attendees came together to enjoy networking, camaraderie, and competition, all to shine a light on their significant cause, which Bodwé was proud to sponsor and support. Thank you to Bonnie Carroll (President and Founder of TAPS) for hosting such a fun and meaningful evening and to our Bodwé attendees, including Steven Giles, Clint Stewart, Steven M. Anderson, Brett Hysinger, Norman Wixon, PMP, and Katy Velten, M.A., for representing our #TriballyOwned family of #ProfessionalServices companies while we attend #AUSA2024! #TAPS #Topgolf #Fundraiser #Networking #SupportingVeterans
