There's a wave of A2A payment schemes surging around the world. Contrary to popular belief, this payment type is current in many markets and countries, regardless of their political, economic or demographic situation. Brazil, India, Sweden, Nigeria, and Spain have little in common apart from a growing consumer demand for A2A payment options. In the Middle East, LatAm, North America... more and more A2A options are being developed all over the world. Whether they become the next UPI or PIX is yet to be seen, but they're not exclusive to certain markets.

🇨🇴 The Colombian eCommerce market is flourishing, and with it, opportunities for local and international merchants to sell their products online. To be able to successfully win over the country, brands need to be aware of the top local payment methods... But fear not! Boku can help. Colombia indeed presents a mixed market where different payment options all have their fair share. Wallets and A2A schemes are irrefutably growing, but cards and cash have been a go-to for thousands of customers for years. What's important to consider here are the type of transaction and user associated with each payment type, and how the ecosystem is to evolve in the next five to 10 years. Check out the top local payment methods set to grow in the market - and follow us for more info on payments and markets!

Are spend limits jeopardizing your growth? Keep reading to find out. A global merchant was looking to improve subscription billing success rates. Boku was able to help this merchant pinpoint the underlying issue: the monthly spend limits enforced by mobile carriers were limiting their growth and increasing the rates of subscription billing failure. Boku recommended that the merchant maximize the performance of their subscribers base. Then, Boku worked with the merchant and German carriers to optimise the application of spend limits, within regulatory constraints, and deliver a significant performance boost. The result? In just a few months, the recurring payment user conversion increased from 68.5% to 74% and the number of successful transactions grew by about 75%. #payments #subscriptions

The more isn't always the better. Translated to the world of payment methods, it could be easy to assume that the bigger the customer base, the more users you'll get on board. The reality is quite different though. Merchants must research well the brand and the market to make sure that the chosen payment method is complementary to the ones they already offer, and that the customer aligns with that payment method in that specific market. Otherwise, what's the point of offering avant-garde payments if they aren't the ones your customers use? #payments #ecommerce #fintech

🇿🇦 The ecommerce market within South Africa is growing rapidly, creating significant opportunities for merchants. A lot rides on picking the right payment methods to offer at checkout. This depends on factors such as the target audience and what methods they prefer, the costs of acceptance and quality of user experience. As one of the most mature markets in Africa, merchants must closely examine which payment methods are dominant in their own use case to manage their checkout correctly. Many of our merchants ask us which payment type provides the best customer retention, DCB, wallet, A2A? We can only recommend sticking to the consumer habits of that specific market and ICP for the product. Even in markets with DCB, wallet and A2A presence, it won't make sense to offer a popular payment method if it's not popular among the potential and existing users of the product. Of course, not all products are eligible to be bought via DCB. In this case, the merchant must choose other local payment methods (wallets, A2A, vouchers, etc.) to reach a new layer of customers in that market. Providing a definitive general answer is impossible. As anything regarding online payments, it depends on many factors but mainly, who you're selling to and the product you're offering. Follow us for more insights on local payment methods.
