Congratulations to Bon Secours Hampton Roads market president Pat Davis-Hagens, who was named to the Virginia 500: The 2024-2025 Power List by Virginia Business for the third year in a row. Each year, Virginia Business inventories the most powerful and influential leaders and executives in Virginia across 20 major sectors, ranging from health care to real estate and manufacturing to higher education and government. This annual edition of the Virginia 500 features profiles of the top leaders from across the Commonwealth. Pat speaks enthusiastically about the construction of the Harbour View Medical Center, an $80 million, 98,000-square-foot hospital scheduled for completion in Suffolk in spring 2025. She is passionate about expanding access to care, and the new hospital, as the former nurse has pointed out, will allow residents of northern Suffolk and western Hampton Roads to stay in their communities for surgery. Thank you, Pat, for providing the vision and leadership not only in Hampton Roads, but across Virginia that makes this state a great place to do business. Congratulations to our team at Bon Secours -- St. Francis Medical Center (Richmond, Virginia), who recently received the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines®- Coronary Artery Disease STEMI Receiving Gold Plus with Target: Type 2 Diabetes recognition for their commitment to offering rapid, research-based care to people experiencing a specific type of heart attack known as an ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), known to be more severe and dangerous than other types of heart attacks. Each year, about 285,000 people in the U.S. experience this type of heart attack, caused by a complete blockage in a coronary artery. Nearly 40% of people who go to the emergency room with acute coronary syndrome are diagnosed with a STEMI. Like all heart attacks, this requires timely treatment to restore blood flow as quickly as possible. Recognition as a STEMI Receiving Center is designed to showcase hospitals that provide 24/7 support for STEMI. These important facilities coordinate with a network of referring hospitals and emergency medical services to provide guideline-directed STEMI and NSTEMI care. “Good help for those in need begins with EMS," shares Al Thompson, our EMS coordinator. "We are excited to partner with EMS to bring the best care to our communities and patients. This is the team’s fifth year in a row of achieving the AHA Gold Plus Award! Congratulations and appreciation of everyone involved in helping us achieve this award.” This recognition is a testament to the commitment of our team at St. Francis Medical Center to provide quality care to our patients and community. Congratulations, team!
