We’re offering a new range of hygiene products specifically designed for textured hair as a significant step in our ongoing  commitment to diversity, inclusivity and honoring the dignity of every person we serve. Started in July, new products from minority-owned and operated Canviiy Hair will be available in the Richmond Market and implemented ministry-wide by early 2025.   Michelle Burtchin MSN,RN, chief nursing officer of Maryview Medical Center in the Hampton Roads Market, said this initiative goes beyond race and ethnicity, emphasizing our commitment to recognize and honor the individuality of each patient. “The new products emphasize our commitment to recognize and honor the individuality of each patient," Michelle said. “By providing options tailored to textured hair while also aiding in matted or scalp needs we are fostering an environment where patients feel seen, valued and respected.” “Health equity is not just a concept; it's a commitment to ensuring that every patient receives the care and respect they deserve, no matter their background,” said Chief Nurse Executive Veronica Scott-Fulton, DNP, MPH, MBA, BSN, BA, NEA-BC. ”Inclusivity must be viewed from all angles, even down to the smallest details like the products in our hygiene kits. By being intentional in these choices, we honor our dedication to health equity and uphold the dignity of every individual we serve."

We're thrilled to announce a significant milestone for the Richmond community — we have officially broken ground on the Ashland Emergency Center in our Richmond, Virginia market. This state-of-the-art facility, set to open in 2026, will dramatically enhance access to critical emergency care and advanced imaging services, including CT and MRI, right in the heart of Hanover County. Our leaders and associates were joined by dedicated town and county representatives to mark the beginning of this transformative project. Together, we're bringing 24/7 emergency services closer to home for our neighbors, ensuring that when seconds count, help is never far away. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue building a healthier future for our community!
