When it's time to hit the range, one of the most important factors is ensuring you don't waste time, valuing each minute of your training. Before you head out, plan what you want to practice and how you want to measure your progress. Write down the drills you'll do, your target time, and how many rounds you want to allocate to each. You may be the best shooter in your group of friends, but you'll never know your true capability until you break outside your comfort zone and shoot a match. You'd be surprised at how much you can learn about your inefficiencies by observing the best shooters in your division. How far do you think you can shoot with an 18" barrel and Bone Frog Ammunition™ 77GR OTMs? Our good friend Hunter (@nohandshooter on IG) took it to the extreme by shooting a full-sized IPSC steel target at a whopping 1,450 yards. Everyone has an idea of what their "perfect" rifle would be. For us, this 14.5" we just finished building is everything we need and nothing we don't. Starting with the foundation, we went with the Radian Weapons because of the features of the ADAC lower and the rigidity of their handguard. From there, we added a Proof Research barrel fitted with the Superlative Arms adjustable gas block, allowing us to tune the rifle for shooting with or without a suppressor. We went with the Nightforce Optics NX8 1-8 LPVO with an offset Aimpoint ACRO P2 mounted with a Scalarworks LEAP mount (which is one of our favorite mounts for red dots) and LPVO due to their light design and simplicity of leveling the optic.
