Constance was diagnosed with osteoporosis in 2009 at around 50 years old. While playing volleyball, a ball hit her finger, leading to the discovery of severe vitamin D deficiency and ultimately her osteopenia and osteoporosis diagnoses. Despite facing three fractures in three years, Constance's active lifestyle, good nutrition, and positive outlook helped her heal quickly. Now, she focuses on prevention—carefully choosing shoes, reading labels, and staying mindful of her surroundings. Constance's story emphasizes the importance of early bone health awareness, proactive prevention, and regular screening. Susan was diagnosed with osteoporosis at 47 after a prolonged period of unexplained back pain. Despite being younger than typical osteoporosis patients, her persistent pain led to a diagnosis of multiple spinal compression fractures. Her journey highlights the silent nature of osteoporosis and the importance of early detection. Following a hysterectomy and discovering hyperparathyroidism, Susan faced multiple surgeries and treatments. Now, she advocates for women to discuss bone health with their doctors, especially if they've undergone a hysterectomy.
