When you’re struggling with mental health, any additional stress can derail healing. That’s why, for 30-plus years, Northern Virginia Mental Health Foundation (NVMHF) has served the communities of Fairfax County and Falls Church as a “funder of last resort." The nonprofit delivers financial aid within 7-10 days to help recipients avoid pitfalls that could turn into major disruptive life events. Board member Mary Kahn reflects on the many grants that prevented people from experiencing homelessness. “It’s one of the most meaningful grants that we give,” she says. Not all grants have the same urgency as a housing request, though they still provide financial support at a critical moment. “We are so thrilled to meet that gap,” says Lyn Tomlinson, an NVMHF board member who recently approved aid to a client completing a certification that could help them get a better job. “What a great investment.” Read this powerful customer story and learn how you can get involved.

Athletes weren’t the only ones bringing home the gold this summer: Bonterra was awarded Best Overall at Vista Equity Partners' Global Hackathon! This year's event, held at the University of the District of Columbia, was particularly special as it marked the first time a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) hosted the competition, and highlights Vista Equity Partner’s commitment to providing innovation opportunities across all communities. Our winning submission focused on using large language models (LLMs) to streamline the grant review process. By harnessing the power of LLMs, we created a solution that significantly reduces the time it takes for funders to evaluate grant applications, allowing nonprofits to receive funding more quickly. This innovation reflects our dedication to creating technology for the greatest good. A big thank you to Vista Equity Partners for hosting such an inspiring event, and congratulations to all the teams that participated! #Hackathon #Innovation #HBCU #Bonterra #TechForGood #FutureInnovators

For over 40 years, Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence has been a haven for domestic violence victims in eastern #Maryland. To help break the cycle of domestic violence, they provide #shelter and assistance with understanding the civil and criminal court processes. With this support, victims move from crisis to self-sufficiency. “With Impact Management software, they don’t have to keep sharing their story and reliving the trauma,” says Dr. Pamela Jordan, special projects and evaluations director.
