October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and yesterday, we had the pleasure of co-hosting an insightful panel discussion on inclusive employment with Community Living, Inc. at the Cottleville - Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce General Membership Meeting. This important event brought together voices from both employers and employees to highlight the value of creating inclusive workplaces. We were honored to have Kelsie Robinson from True Manufacturing and Sonja Grodeon from The Boulevard Senior Living represent the employer perspective, sharing their tips and success stories in fostering inclusive environments. On the employee side, Paige M. and Corissa V. from BCI shared their personal experiences, offering inspiring insights into how meaningful employment impacts individuals with disabilities. NDEAM celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and promotes practices that build more inclusive workplaces. Yesterday’s panel was a powerful reminder of the benefits an inclusive workforce brings to businesses, communities, and individuals alike. Shout out to our friends at Missouri American Water Company! Some friends of ours at Missouri American Water spent a day of service supporting our mission at BCI by cleaning up some landscaping, preparing our conference room to be painted and prepping supplies for an upcoming event. After all their hard work, they enjoyed a tour of our facilities and were thanked by hugs, high fives and fist bumps! So grateful to have them at our campus and for all the elbow grease they provided! We hope they enjoyed being here, as much as we enjoyed having them! THANK YOU!
