James B. Boone, Jr. [Jim], was the company’s founder and longtime chairman. Boone died in February 2023. Steve Stewart, president and CEO, lives in Smithfield, Virginia. Other key executive personnel live in BNI-served communities. A private company, members of the late Jim Boone’s family control the company. Numerous others associated with BNI own stock or have financial interest in BNI-operated subsidiaries.
