About us

We are The Boston Beer Company and together we are heavy. From the very beginning, Jim Koch wanted to create a company that he would want to work for, creating a culture that celebrated beer with a passion and depth of knowledge that can’t help but be contagious to others. Forty years of brewing beer and cultivating talent later, we continue to be a passionate group of individuals who focus on raising the bar in everything we do. We're always looking for hardworking, motivated and competitive people who strive to push the boundaries and never settle. Not to be lost in the shuffle is the ability to have fun – after all, we are a beer company, and if you can’t have fun in this business, there’s something wrong!

Boston Beer Company continued Oktoberfest celebrations in Cincinnati last weekend at Zinzinnati -- the largest Oktoberfest event in the U.S.! Jim Koch, Boston Beer Company founder and brewer, kicked off the party by tapping the ceremonial keg. Then the pints kept flowing at the Samuel Adams Beer Garden where Samuel Adams Octoberfest, American Light and Just the Haze shined as fan favorites. Guest appearances included Mitchell Hooper, AKA "The World's Strongest Man," who stopped by to challenge drinkers in a traditional stein-hoisting competition. Would you have dared to out-hoist Hooper?

Cheers to the 2024 Boston Beer Company Homebrew Competition Champions! Talented coworkers wowed our judges, showing off their homemade recipes in two categories: beer and cider. And the winners are: 🍻 First Place, Beer: Jeremy Brown, a bartender at our Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom, took top honors with his American pale ale brewed with American and Australian hops. His win earns him a trip to Oktoberfest in Munich! 💪Second Place, Beer: Andrew Zembo, a market manager in Arkansas, secured second with his strong bitter, Aux Arc Bitter. 🥥Third Place, Beer: Jesse Rojko, a finance manager for Dogfish Head, brewed up an imperial stout with a touch of coconut for the bronze. 🍎First Place, Cider: Sam Arnold, a process engineer from our Sam Adams Pennsylvania Brewery, grabbed the gold with his Harvest Ciderwood Spice - cider with cinnamon and nutmeg. The Boston Beer Company Homebrew Competition grew out of the Longshot Competition, which called on the public to submit recipes for a chance to bring their beers to drinkers across the nation in partnership with Samuel Adams. Although this competition is now only open to coworkers, it still pays homage to our homebrewing roots and one of our core values: innovation. The Boston Beer Company coworker Sustainability Network is thrilled to announce the winner of our Third Annual Innovation Tournament! Team "Tree Huggers" snagged first place with its proposal to transition Boston Beer to contact-free, digital business cards, revolutionizing the way we interact with people outside the company. This simple, scalable solution will have a positive environmental and financial impact, as it enables savings on shipping, packaging and waste. At Boston Beer, we believe innovation can come from anywhere in the organization. That's why programs like the Sustainability Tournament are accessible to all coworkers as we continue to challenge the status quo. "The combination of deep knowledge, experience, passion, competitiveness, integrity, love and respect for our brands and each other – along with a healthy serving of crazy – all came together for the perfect week." Yup, that about sums up Boston Beer Fest! Last week thousands of coworkers from all across Boston Beer gathered in Las Vegas for our annual company meeting. We raised a toast to brand plans and coworker milestones, and we also found time to sprinkle in a healthy dose of competition! How would you describe Beer Fest? 💥

Casey O'Neill, Director of New Product Development, started her career as a Co-op from Northeastern University 14 years ago. By 2015, Casey had been hired as a full-time Boston Beer Company coworker with many years of experience under her belt and was seeking inspiration for her thesis project to complete a Master's degree in Innovation. The lightbulb went off when connecting with friends over post-Crossfit drinks. Casey decided there was a need for the perfect health-conscious beverage: something refreshing, light-bodied, carbonated and with fewer calories... Truly Spiked & Sparkling was born. By the time Casey finished her master’s, Truly had gone national. Since then, what's now known as Truly Hard Seltzer has disrupted the market with new-to-world innovations, exciting partnerships, and extensive product portfolios.
