The Bootcamp started on August 5th in Stanford and EA thanks to Alberto Tono and Hannah Luxenberg-Tono, MBA. The end, after15 super host speakers, has been at Cosimo Spera's Minerva CQ, August 9th. On August 12th we started with Jeff Cabili and Stefania Di Tommaso at Stanford, our 20th year Silicon Valley Study Tour (2005-2024) for 18 students selected from all over Italy, perfectly guided by Eleonora Carletti and Simone Dalledonne. The conclusion on August 16th, after 18 super guests, was with Pietro, Alumnus SVST 2009 when he was a student at the Polytechnic of Bari. Happy to have done it! The Boston Study Tour brings Italian students to Boston, connecting them with Italian and Italian-American professionals who teach, research and work in the Boston area. The Center for Design has gladly hosted this group of students over the past few years, and yesterday, we met with this year’s contingent. We discussed the CfD’s current and past research projects, learning about these students’ interests and goals and introducing them to the world of interdisciplinary design research. Then we toured the College of Arts, Media and Design (CAMD) at Northeastern University’s Makerspaces and Immersive Media Lab, trying out VR and MR headsets, before visiting with the Center for the Arts and walking through Gallery 360. We gave these students a quick but comprehensive tour of Northeastern University and hope they have a fantastic week in Boston! Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ekQ6GYx3

🚰 Did you know that every time you chat with ChatGPT, it could be consuming a bottle of water? When it comes to AI, the conversation usually revolves around questions like “Is it stealing our jobs?” and “Is it safe for humanity’s future?” Just a couple of days ago, the former leader of OpenAI's "superalignment" team, dedicated to aligning artificial intelligence with human values, resigned, citing that OpenAI was prioritizing product development over AI safety. That’s a huge problem and alarming, but it’s not the only issue... Instead of talking about the obvious, I wanted to shed light on AI's hidden environmental footprint in this post. As more companies and industries adopt AI technology, it’s crucial not to overlook the environmental consequences of large language models. How can we hold tech giants accountable for more sustainable AI practices? #CorporateResponsibility #OpenAI #ChatGPT #ClimateTech #FutureofAI #Sustaimnability #NetZero #AI #regeneretiveAI
