According to the Center for Workplace Mental Health, the Construction industry ranks second highest in suicide rates among major industries. These are alarming statistics, however Botello Builders recently decided to be part of the Solution. Yesterday and earlier this year part of our leadership team attended the Spring and Fall Luncheons held by The Council on Recovery, and what an incredible experience to hear from people who struggled with substance abuse and mental health, yet they were able to turn their lives around. It takes courage and willpower to make the changes in one’s life, but the comeback is always greater than the setback. We are happy to help organizations that are helping others combat issues like substance abuse and mental health. It is an undeniable truth that the construction industry is facing a big shortage of qualified and skilled labor, and every year the challenge to find talented workers gets worse. It is great news that some school districts are taking the initiative to start construction programs where the students are learning skills that will get them prepared for their future careers. Botello Builders is happy to help and promote programs like the one Humble ISD started since a few years ago. The students are building tiny homes which serve as housing for veterans. What an incredible way of helping two causes at once! Earlier this week, part of our leadership team visited Summer Creek High School in Humble to meet with students and teachers who are involved in the Tiny Homes program. It is such an honor for Botello Builders to be helping this amazing program, and we’re definitely looking forward to more school districts starting initiatives like this.

Beautiful images of the Concrete Slab on Metal Deck pour this week at our Harmony Science Academy - Bridgeland project in Cypress, Tx. This project includes a 43,250 sf Concrete Foundation, 18,100 sf Slab on Metal Deck, 140,000 sf of Concrete Paving, 15,800 sf of Sidewalks, Curbs, Light Pole Bases, and all other Site Concrete items. According to the US Census Bureau, Fulshear, TX was the second fastest-growing city in the nation in 2023, and the Botello Builders team is excited to be part of the massive construction happening in the area. We’ve had excellent progress on our Lamar CISD Elementary School #36 project located in Fulshear. This job includes a 113,750 sf Concrete Foundation, Piers, 2nd Floor Concrete Slab on Metal Deck, 170,000 sf of Concrete Paving, 45,650 sf of Sidewalks, Curbs, Light Pole Bases, and all other Site Concrete items.
