As design professionals, we are encouraged to include positive distractions in pediatric healthcare settings to reduce anxiety and nurture calm. Seamlessly merging lab and workspace environments, Umoja Biopharma's new headquarters in Seattle creates a hybrid workspace that encourages communication, camaraderie, and dedication to the common goal of treating cancer and autoimmune diseases. Rooted in the concept of a nurse log and spanning three floors, the project contains lab blocks on each floor designed to emphasize collaborative environments. The workplace components emphasize multi-functional use and provide an array of options for privacy or collaboration. Did you know that BA has designed nearly 250 surgery centers? That's around 3M square feet! One of the latest additions is this new specialty surgery center for Regent Surgical in Georgetown, Texas - one of the fastest-growing cities in the state. Focusing on both orthopedic and gastrointestinal procedures, the ASC sits within an all-electric infrastructure that eliminates the use of gas within the building. We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Sutter Health on their new Rohnert Park Care Center project! Scheduled to open Spring 2025, this new facility will house Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods physicians and offer primary and urgent care, along with diagnostic imaging services like X-ray, CT, and ultrasound. The center will consist of 24 exam rooms, including two procedure rooms, and space for laboratory and blood draw services, with room for future expansion.   We are proud to be part of this project to enhance healthcare access for the growing communities of Rohnert Park. The Irvine Dermatologic Oncology Clinic project is a 3,000 sq ft OSHPD 3 renovation that expands our client’s cancer center services with a dedicated clinic for dermatological oncology and Mohs surgery, featuring California’s first Vectra WB360 whole-body scanner. The project includes four new procedure rooms, an onsite lab for immediate Mohs surgery testing, and a renovated adjacent medical oncology clinic with four new exam rooms. Design innovations like wood-look portals and smart reuse of existing furniture enhance the lobby’s functionality and aesthetics, creating a cohesive design language throughout the facility.
