Resharing one of our most memorable projects when partnering with the U.S. Air Force to implement a cutting-edge solar thermal solution for the gym and recreation center at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton Roads, VA. Over the course of 10 months, our dedicated team brought this project from concept to completion, delivering a resilient and efficient energy solution. This initiative not only helped reduce their carbon footprint but also significantly cut energy costs by using the sun and heat from the solar panels to pre-heat the domestic hot water used by appliances like showers, laundry facilities, and the pool. At Bowerbird Energy, we are passionate about creating sustainable solutions that make a real impact. What do higher tariffs on Chinese imported goods mean for businesses in the energy industry? Increased costs for materials will inevitably lead to higher development expenses. Combined with rising interest rates, this could stifle clean energy projects, making them financially unviable. However, with the prices of imported goods rising, we might see a boost in domestic production and job creation, as companies focus on producing these products locally. Manufacturing plants and supply chains take time to mature, but with fiscal support from Washington via the #CHIPSact and the #IRA, the timelines could be shorter than expected. China has long been accused of subsidizing certain market sectors, giving them an unfair advantage in the global markets. Given the collapse of their real estate industry and prolonged pandemic restrictions, the Chinese government is now strongly motivated to drive economic development domestically. Geothermal energy may be a solution for a facility looking for renewable power depending on the geographic location, predominant use, and needs of the facilities. There are three main system designs of geothermal (direct, flash, and binary). It's important to understand the advantages of each, but equally as important to know how each system may or may not complement other #utility #infrastructure and energy sources at your site. Critical infrastructures needing energy 24/7 are very different than facilities that use power inconsistently with varying energy profiles throughout the year. Continuous monitoring and reporting, paired with DER's leads to predictable energy profiles and that is a dream for any energy manager and makes life easier when performing feasibility studies on #geothermal retrofits. Last week we had the chance to attend the Institute for Veterans and Military Families - IVMF #VeteranEDGE Conference in Dallas, TX and discuss strategies on how corporate companies can help certified #sdvosb and #vosb companies win. Winning for a lot of businesses is getting that first contract and building the relationship. Far too many businesses are "in the system", but fall short of getting a chance to actually do business with these large corporations and prime contractors because of access to financial #capital, human capital, or meeting the past performance requirements.
