Neuroscience Insight 🧠 Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers that transmit signals across synapses from one neuron to another. They play a crucial role in regulating mood, sleep, and cognitive functions. Dopamine, serotonin, and glutamate are some key neurotransmitters involved in these processes. Understanding their functions helps in developing treatments for mental health disorders. #BRAINING #cofundedbyEU Jagiellonian University, Hospital del Mar Research Institute, Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa, University of Salamanca (Universidad de Salamanca)

Brain Fact! 🧠 The blood-brain barrier is a protective shield that separates the brain’s blood vessels from the brain tissue. It prevents harmful substances from entering the brain while allowing essential nutrients to pass through. This barrier poses a challenge in drug delivery for neurological diseases, but researchers are developing innovative methods to overcome it. #BRAINING #cofundedbyEU Jagiellonian University, Hospital del Mar Research Institute, Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa, University of Salamanca (Universidad de Salamanca)
