BPS held its 2nd annual Community Summit last week, providing an opportunity for local business leaders, parents, and students to engage with district administration. Superintendent Dr. Brad Swofford presented an update about the district before inviting everyone to take part in table discussions. The Summit is a time for the community to give authentic feedback which helps guide the district's future planning. Branson students played an important role in the event. Students in the GO CAPS Tri-Lakes program greeted guests as they arrived, the Branson High School Airforce Junior ROTC members presented the Honor Guard, and the Branson High School Chamber Choir performed the National Anthem. The students then participated in the table discussions to provide their valuable perspectives. We are thankful for the supportive community of Branson. If you are a community member and would like to summit your feedback to the district, please take a moment to fill out our Community Feedback Survey on our website here: https://lnkd.in/gAfJP32G A special thanks to all the community members who attended and the Branson Convention Center for providing the space. #WeAreBranson

We love celebrating the ones who make our district a great place to work! Yesterday we honored Special Education Teacher Danae Glidwell as our first Pirate Proud recipient of the 2024-2025 school year. Something her colleagues said about her: "Danae has a big heart. Danae goes above and beyond for her coworkers and is the first to offer help when needed. Danae listens with compassion and empathy, and guides with positivity and encouragement!" Not only does she focus on helping her students reach success, but her coworkers too. What a great example she is to put people first! Watch her surprise celebration here: https://lnkd.in/gkuzffmF

Allen Asbury is more than just a school bus driver. When he is not driving his yellow coach around town, he is most likely performing on stage in front of the millions of visitors that come to Branson each year. Allen is a singer in Clay Cooper's Country Express show, as well as the Music Minister at Grace Community Assembly Church. But his voice doesn't stop there: "As the wheels go 'round and 'round, I'm making connections. Even if I'm not saying anything, I'm still communicating to them that this is a safe place and you're valued." Although his school bus may not have the same flashing lights and clapping crowds found at Clay Cooper's Theatre, Allen is content knowing he is making a difference in the lives of Branson's most precious spectators. Because of the flexibility of his work hours in the show and at the church, Allen is able to fit in time to drive a bus route, take classes on trips, and even take his son's baseball team to away games. Our district is always ready to welcome new Pirates who want to make a difference for kids. Check out our Employment Opportunities page to see what position is the best fit for you! https://lnkd.in/dQtZ-Qis #ThisIsOurStory #WeAreBranson Clay Cooper's Country Express

Having a job that serves a great purpose AND gets weekends, holidays, and summers off? Who wouldn't want that?! Bus drivers serve an incredibly important role in public education. Without the provided transportation, most students wouldn't make it to school. Branson Schools will be hosting a hiring event for bus drivers this Saturday, November 18 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Full-time, part-time, and substitute positions are available. Transportation staff members will be on-site ready to answer questions and help visitors fill out an application. We hope to see you there! All open positions in the district are viewable here: https://lnkd.in/dGFmyi96
