About us
Our locally led teams are made up of true builders united in an ironclad commitment to serve our partners, communities, and the future we’re building toward. Because we know it’s the people behind each project that matter most. Since Miller Gorrie founded Brasfield & Gorrie in 1964, we’ve grown from a local contractor to a national construction company with 13 offices in eight states. In 2023, Engineering News-Record ranked us #21 on its Top Contractors list, and ENR Southeast ranks us #1 in the region. We’ve helped clients complete projects that transform communities and power economies. And during our growth, we’ve maintained the identity that sets us apart—true builders guided by the Golden Rule

Groundbreaking 💥 We recently broke ground for the East Cobb Church in Atlanta. We look forward to leading the way as the general contractor for this new three-story church. The project will include three separate areas for youth services, three production areas surrounded by insulated precast walls for sound mitigation, and a two-level precast parking deck.

Our Raleigh teammates recently partnered with Hanbury to build a convertible "Pawdenza" for AIA Triangle's Barkitecture event, a pet architecture and design competition. The event supports local animal foster and rescue organizations in the Triangle area. Our team got two paws up from the furry judges and won the People’s Choice and Fat Cat awards!

Forty years ago, we completed the Birmingham Central Library. Take a look at the construction in progress from 1984. We built this facility across the street from the existing library, which now houses the research and archives departments, and connected the two buildings with an overstreet pedestrian bridge. The new building became the central library location. A black glass wall rises four stories above the main entrance and floods the interior with light, while the rest of the exterior is covered in Indiana limestone to match the original library. 📸: Photos 2-5 courtesy of Birmingham Public Library Archives Department Photo 2: Birmingham, Ala.
