Bio-based plastics are an essential solution to help us reach a net zero circular economy. But not a lot of people know enough about them. So, each week we'll be tackling the complex questions that come with the topic. Stay tuned as we dispel the myths of bio-based plastics! How do we produce the ethanol used for the development of plastics? Sugarcane ethanol is produced alongside sugar for the food sector, and modern mills are energy self-sufficient, powering their processes by burning the left-over sugarcane fibers.
