Congratulations to our bicoastal BHB teams for being recognized as one of Daily Journal's Top Boutiques in 2024. This recognition highlights the continued fight and advocacy on behalf our clients, rare combination of practice areas for a boutique, and broad-ranging — and very cool — cases/deals. Kudos to the other honorees in the Daily Journal Corporation's 2024 publication.

UC Berkeley Law Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice: Court Publishes Decision on Mandatory Arbitration Provisions in the Crypto Industry (and Beyond) "The Center celebrates the decision of the California Court of Appeal to publish its groundbreaking decision in Kramer v. BHB is beyond excited to support our longtime friend and community favorite, Andytown Coffee Roasters, as they expand into Jackson Square! Since opening their doors in 2014, Andytown has become a cornerstone of San Francisco, known for serving top-tier coffee while staying deeply invested in the city. As a proud women-owned business, they’ve created local jobs, fostered community connections, and set the bar for ethical coffee sourcing. Their move to Jackson Square aligns perfectly with the neighborhood’s dynamic growth, adding to the vibrant culture and energy of the area. We can’t wait to see how Andytown’s presence will elevate this historic district. Read more about this exciting expansion 🔗 https://lnkd.in/dQjG3Fuj

Pro bono work is not merely a week or a hashtag for us. At BHB, we have an entire impact practice — dedicating tens of thousands of attorney hours — centered on the core of what being a lawyer is all about. It's part of the ethos of the firm since inception: confronting the bigger questions of the day, doing good, and putting force and a concerted effort to stopping the bad. https://lnkd.in/emF5QEYG

Earlier this month, we joined another stellar Sonoma Brands Capital production at the Consumer Summit. It was an honor to co-sponsor the Summit and moderate a panel of superstars discussing M&A in the high-growth consumer market. Huge thanks to panelists Adam L. Michaels, Teddie Townsend, and Ju Rhyu for their expert insights and perspective—appreciate the great conversation! TLDR: while brighter skies may be ahead, savvy entrepreneurs and acquirers can still navigate a more challenging M&A environment with clear goals, strategic planning and disciplined execution. Already looking forward to Vol. 4 of the Consumer Summit in 2025! #SonomaBrands #DigitalSummit #Innovation #ConsumerTrends

A scoop from Alex Barreira: Andytown Coffee Roasters is opening up its eighth cafe at 747 Front St. in Jackson Square. I helped with a little extra intel I got at a party last week: Law firm BraunHagey & Borden LLP, which just moved into the neighborhood, was concerned its partners and associates would have a long trek for coffee, so they persuaded Andytown CEO Lauren Crabbe to put a cafe in the ground floor of their building. They were considering a private corporate cafe like the ones Andytown operates for Meta and GitHub but decided to just have it be open to the public. And if you're into Bay Area chillwave, there's a nugget for you about that, too.

We filed suit a month ago against the government of India and some of their high-ranking officials for attempting to murder our client, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun — U.S. citizen, human rights activist critical of the Indian government — in New York on U.S. soil. More information about India’s criminal conspiracy becomes public every day. Just last week, Canada expelled Indian diplomats after intelligence revealed that India’s top diplomat and five others were “part of a vast criminal network” that engaged in “homicide and extortion intended to silence critics of India living in Canada.” PM Justin Trudeau said that Canada would “never tolerate the involvement of a foreign government threatening and killing Canadian citizens on Canadian soil, a deeply unacceptable violation of Canada’s sovereignty and of international law.” The U.S. should take a similar stance for its citizens. https://lnkd.in/d_DfnG5k
