Stephen (Steve) C. Sutton, Ed.D. (he/him/his) is one the first people to engage my services when I decided to focus full-time on Brave Space Leadership. I’ve been working with him and his team for several months to envision a professional development event for the Division of Student Affairs at University of California, Berkeley - and in just a few short weeks, it will be upon us! It’s been a joy to design an event focused on sustaining #DEI #leadership at every phase of one’s career and in every role in an organization. Moreover, it gave me a golden opportunity to field a dream team of panelists I respect and admire. I truly cannot wait to be in dialogue, learn, and grow with Alejandro Covarrubias, Annalyn Cruz, M.S., ACC, CPCC, and Consuelo Grier, Ed.D.. If you work in student affairs at Cal, please plan to join us!

Bravery has always been essential in group-based learning about #DEI. As attacks on DEI efforts and minoritized communities escalate in frequency and intensity, the need for #bravespace is more urgent today than ever. Kristi Clemens and I have trained more than a thousand DEI educators, facilitators, and practitioners on brave space since we co-created this framework nearly 20 years ago. Based on this experience, we've developed an engaging and participatory workshop through Brave Space Leadership to help more people become better versed in the theory and philosophy grounding the brave space framework, how it has evolved over time based on what we have learned from students and colleagues, and the knowledge and skills necessary to help diverse groups of learners create brave spaces for and with each other. Please visit our website to learn more about the workshop and contact us if you are interested in bringing it to your campus or organization! https://lnkd.in/di8wt8ri
