  • John Abbene, President of BRdata, kicked off BRdata World by unveiling the company’s groundbreaking innovation in AI for the grocery industry: Ada, BRdata’s very own virtual assistant. With Ada, independent grocery retailers can ask an infinite number of questions related to sales, profit, transactions, and customers in their stores and receive results within seconds. His opening session set an exciting tone for the conference, building anticipation for the 70 educational sessions ahead. Abbene emphasized that both single-store operators and large grocery chains could gain valuable insights at BRdata World. He also provided a high-level overview of BRdata’s new and enhanced products, encouraging attendees to explore the latest solutions designed to boost the efficiency and success of their stores. John Ross, President and CEO of IGA, INC., delivered a stellar keynote presentation on “Economic Challenges for Consumers, Data-Driven Marketing, and AI in Grocery.” With food, housing, and energy prices rising, it is critical for retailers to consider the changes happening in the global and domestic economy in order to stay on top of shopper demands.     #BRdataWorld 2024 is finally here -- 5 packed days of education, networking, and best practices for the independent grocery industry! We have a great lineup of over 70 educational sessions, including 12 user experiences sessions, which are one of the pillars of this conference. We once again have record attendance, with 25% growth from last year. The attendees comprise close to 100 organizations, including 65 independent grocers, 11 wholesalers, co-ops and service provides, along with our trusted vendor partners and resellers. As a group, the attendees represent over 7,000 independent grocery stores in the U.S., and over 11,000 stores worldwide! We are excited to have 3 industry leaders attending. The conference theme is AI Grocery.   • 🌟 BRdata Spotlight: Wray's Marketfresh IGA Increases Private Label Sales with BRdata Loyalty As a result of inflation of the overall cost of goods, consumers are searching for cheaper alternatives and retailers are looking to offer these items–this is reflected in our data in higher sales and units sold of Private Label. How are you marketing your private label today to take advantage of this? With BRdata Loyalty, several of our retail partners have run phenomenal Private Label promotions to increase sales and provide their shoppers with the cost-effective items they are looking for.   For example, Wray’s Marketfresh IGA ran a 10% back to members ‘Wray’s wallets’ on all private label purchases. This member exclusive promotion was only advertised by email and achieved an email open rate of 42.9%! This offer remarkably increased unit sales by over 2,200 in 4 stores during the 3-day member promotion period. Not only did Private Label sales increase, but overall store purchases for the promotion were +$27K with an ROI of 1,646%. Better yet–it increased those members’ grocery trips over the next 3 weeks with the incentive in their wallet to return to the store and save.   • BRdata had an incredible experience attending National Grocers Association (NGA)'s Fly-In for Fair Competition in Washington D.C., joining over 120 independent grocers on Capitol Hill! John Abbene had the opportunity to speak with several congressmen and advocate with industry leaders for the future of independent grocery policy. It’s undeniable that these policies are crucial to develop a fair and competitive market for independent grocers.
