Brevard Prevention Coalition's goal is to improve the quality of life for youth and families in Brevard County. We will work to reduce youth substance abuse, increase school-based prevention programs, increase the coalition’s ability to recruit youths to participate, host its own youth substance abuse awareness events, produce youth substance abuse prevention social marketing materials, support law enforcement efforts at reducing underage drinking, and provide more training opportunities for its membership. To do so, we aim to strengthen collaboration and coordination among nonprofit agencies, faith-based organizations, law enforcement and governmental agencies, and businesses to support the coalition’s efforts. Through the collaboration of these local organizations, we expect to see long-term, positive results in Brevard County. Brevard Prevention Coalition is accredited by COA Accreditation, a service of Social Current. To learn more about COA Accreditation, please visit www.social-current.org.

We enjoyed being part of the 3rd Annual “You Matter Day” at Merritt Island High School! Special thanks to our very own Joy Wilkinson and Erin Lyons for holding down our resource table - even through some rain. You Matter Day aims to convey a simple message: You matter. Life is good. Setbacks are temporary, and help is available by calling 988. The organzition “Do It For Hunter” hosted the event which featured resource tables from amazing community organizations, ice cream, food trucks, and a dunk tank, providing a fun atmosphere while addressing the serious topic of suicide prevention. Brevard Schools Superintendent Dr. Rendell and School Board Member Jennifer Jenkins also were there to lend themselves to the dunking booth in support .😎 #suicideawarenessmonth #youmatter #youmatterday #youmatterday2024 #doitforhunter Joy W. This week is momentous! We, along with Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman and his team, presented the “BETTER WITHOUT IT” substance misuse prevention initiative to the Kentucky State Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission. It was approved unanimously by the commission to be officially implemented statewide! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾. Great news for us who helped develop it and the families of Kentucky to get this great tool in their state to combat the opioid crisis. CTS Agency Central Florida Cares Health System, Inc. We want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Gina for her incredible ‘Flip Your Drip’ campaign! 👕❤️ Thanks to your generous clothing donations, we'll be able to fill a vital need for families we serve. The quantity and quality of clothing that a family has can be a protective factor against stressors which could result in harmful coping practices, like substance misuse. These donations will go directly to families served by Brevard Prevention Coalition. It is part of our nonprofit purpose to spread awareness, as well as provide resources, to prevent and counteract the effects of addiction. Your kindness truly makes a difference! 🙏 #FlipTheDrip #BrevardPreventionCoalition #CommunitySupport
