As many know from attending my talks at meetings, this year and last, my current area of thinking includes "big data" approaches as applied to Holistic understanding of processes. OR, OMICS. I am reading Anistatia Miller's and Jared Brown's new book A Most Noble Water, wherein they discuss very old recipes for early gin (origins) formulations. I propose (in a New Gin - Infographic): OMICS (BIG DATA) NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND FULL FLAVOR PROFILES TODAY. Omics (Whole of class thinking, usually applied to Science might include in future: “Historomics” & extend the depth of the term “Archaeomics”, and perhaps also implicate "Bibliographomics" with regards to understanding historical flavor profiles. Just some thoughts here. Yours?

Xfinity and beyond. Seveteen days without internet in parts of Augusta GA. That's Xfinity for you. We were away part of the time but a day back before we got it back. Lasted just two days, and out again. WOW takes on two meanings and if this crap is not resolved soon it will be a shift to WOW, who do seem to have their act together. You listening Xfinity folks? #Xfinity #Crap #Internet #Service #Augusta #GA #WOW!

After the inauguration into the Gin Guild, I ventured North to my old home town of Colne in Lancashire. Then a trip to Haworth (home to the Brontes). I recalled something about Gin at a pub on the last visit a year and a half ago and found the brewery serving the Miss Mollies Gins (they have the distillery or production facility elsewhere). Very interesting and complex candy-like flavored Gins. Here is a note on my testing two (in comparison with a few other gins - tested since my return to my home and "mini-lab" in GA.

Currently at Augusta Regional, on way to Atlanta and then London. Meeting up with Jamie Baxter, Marcel Thompson in from NZ, Xavier Baker Isle of Wight Mermaid Distiller, Pal Gleed and other dignitaries and gin experts on Friday at the Gin Guild. What fun, what knowledge, what a reception. More news on gin to follow.
