We're thrilled to announce that BrightNight's Mortlake Energy Hub, the largest hybrid renewable energy project in the state of Victoria, has received approval from the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) to connect to the National Electricity Market. This milestone marks a significant advancement in Australia's decarbonization efforts, with the Mortlake Energy Hub set to generate enough electricity to power 140,000 Victorian homes. This advanced hybrid project features a 360 MW solar generation capacity and a 300 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), showcasing our commitment to innovative renewable energy solutions. Both federal and state governments are pushing towards Net Zero emissions by 2050, making projects like Mortlake crucial for increasing low-carbon power generation that can competitively replace non-renewable baseload power. BrightNight aims to deliver customer-specific renewable solutions that provide 24/7 clean power, supporting the global energy transition while ensuring long-term grid stability and reliability. "The Mortlake Hub is the most advanced project in our Australia portfolio, providing a blueprint for our upcoming gigawatt-scale projects," said Polly Baranco, Country Head, BrightNight Australia. "This approval is a testament to the expertise and innovation of the BrightNight team." We look forward to starting construction in 2025 and contributing to Australia's sustainable, reliable, and clean energy future! We're excited to announce that BrightNight has secured its third major win in five months in the Indian utility space. Our latest success comes from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co (Msedcl), boosting our active order pipeline in the market to more than 800 MWp and enabling our goal of a 7 GW portfolio by 2030. Earlier this year, we won back-to-back auctions from NHPC Limited and NTPC Limited, requiring 700 MWp of wind, solar, and energy storage systems. These wins underscore India's commitment to clean energy and ours to fast-tracking the global transition away from fossil fuels. #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #EnergyTransition

Joseph Albrecht, Director of Development at BrightNight, spoke to Yale Climate Connections about BrightNight's Starfire Renewable Energy Center. This industry-leading project will transform one of the largest coal mines in the U.S. into the largest clean power plant in Kentucky. It is designed to produce enough electricity to power over 170,000 households per year while creating hundreds of local jobs and providing support for the community recently impacted by natural disasters in the region. The Starfire Renewable Energy Center has been praised by leading experts and environmental organizations, such as The Nature Conservancy, as a model that can be used to replicate projects meeting climate, conservation, and community goals on brownfield sites. Our clean energy project in Narangwadi, Maharashtra, India, is advancing at an incredible pace! Our dedicated construction teams have been working tirelessly, turning visionary blueprints into tangible structures. Cables are being laid, transformers installed, substations constructed, and soon, the first pulses of electricity will flow. What was once an empty expanse is now on the verge of becoming a clean energy powerhouse, set to energize corporate offices and commercial and industrial enterprises. Our partnership with ACEN in the APAC region has been pivotal in this journey, enabling us to strengthen our multi-technology renewable energy portfolio. Last week, we hosted Patrice Clausse, President & CEO - ACEN International, at our Maharashtra project site to showcase our innovative hybrid wind-solar projects with energy storage. We are profoundly grateful to have such strong partners supporting our mission to decarbonize energy and revolutionize the industry through global innovation. Further, in celebration of World Environment Day, our partners and teams came together to plant trees, symbolizing our commitment to nurturing a sustainable future.
