🎉 Bristol Hospice Achieves a Deficiency-Free CHAP Survey! 🎉 We are incredibly proud to share that Bristol Hospice has achieved a Deficiency-Free CHAP Survey at the corporate level—a rare and outstanding accomplishment that underscores our unwavering commitment to excellence in hospice care. 💙 What does this mean? The Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP) holds hospice providers to the highest standards in patient care, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. A deficiency-free status means that Bristol met every requirement without a single citation—an achievement that truly sets us apart. 💙 An Unprecedented Milestone In 2024 alone, Bristol Hospice achieved 15 total deficiency-free surveys—including both CHAP and State surveys—an unheard-of accomplishment in the industry. But what makes this even more remarkable is that our entire companywas audited at the corporate level and found to be deficiency-free across every operational and clinical area. This extensive audit covered: ✅ Clinical Excellence – Ensuring top-tier patient care ✅ Billing & Financials – Transparent, ethical financial practices ✅ Feasibility & Compliance – Meeting the most rigorous regulations ✅ Policies & Procedures – Establishing best practices across the organization ✅ Governing Body Oversight – Demonstrating strong leadership and integrity ✅ Contracting & Regulatory Standards – Exceeding contractual and legal requirements 💙 Why This Matters A CHAP survey is an intensive multi-day audit that leaves no stone unturned, examining everything from clinical operations to financial and regulatory compliance. Many hospice providers struggle with deficiencies in key areas such as individualized care planning and documentation (see CHAP’s data). She has been practicing in the field since 2001 and transitioned to full-time hospice care in 2004. Board-certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, she is passionate about performance improvement, patient safety, and creating healing environments for patients and families. She earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, completed her Family Medicine residency at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, and obtained an MBA from the University of Houston at Clear Lake in 1999. Her leadership and advocacy continue to elevate hospice care, making a profound impact on the industry.
