Brown Girls Mentoring was founded in 2017 with a mission to equip Brown Girls with tools to build her self-confidence, develop relationships, resolve conflict, make wise decisions, work in teams, and develop practical life skills. We educate your Brown Girl(s) through lectures, trainings, activities, simulations, role play, affirmations and so much more!

    Good Afternoon Brown Girls Mentoring family!! Please make sure you’re in attendance for the BGM parent workshop this weekend!! Our goal is to build up our girls and their families!! Our guest will be Chelsea Elliott, MSW Founder & CEO of Sōmōcom Lab and creator of the EQ Kids Crew! ® The Social-Emotional Card Game for Kids. Using her childhood mental health challenges, her company helps adults create emotionally healthy and safe environments for kids while building kids’ confidence, resilience, and communication skills through emotional wellness. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Macro Social Work degree from Boston College, an Emotional Intelligence Coaching certification, and completed business programs through Cornell University and Goldman Sachs. She has been featured on the Today Show, Parents Magazine, Good Housekeeping, Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, Authority Magazine, The Karen Hunter Show on Sirius XM Radio, and other news and media outlets.

    Brown Girls Mentoring & The Women's Fund of Central Ohio hosted a Big Table conversation about Black girls’ quality of livelihood and how their school experiences add to or diminish their lives. This conversation was HEAVY to say the least but very much needed!! Thank you to the students who participated in today’s conversation and to the community who showed up to listen, support and weigh in on the conversation and a HUGE THANK YOU to our newest community partner Bottoms Up Coffee for supporting the work, as well as being our gracious host(you rock 🫶🏾)!!
