Last night we were honored to host the launch of the GBS Alpine Foundation, a new initiative from GB Snowsport that provides supporters with a means to directly impact the efforts of Britain’s high-performance Alpine ski team and the sport’s most promising young British talent in the buildup to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics and beyond. Launched at an exclusive signing ceremony on 22 October at our offices, the event was attended by the British Alpine World Cup Squad of Billy Major OLY, Dave Ryding and Laurie Taylor. The longer-term aim will then be to support some of the country’s most promising Europa Cup and younger Alpine talent as they look to continue Britain’s upward trajectory in Alpine skiing and support future generations of British Alpine skiers. At launch, the Foundation, which will be chaired by Nick Robinson, has been backed by nine founder donors, with hopes to sign more donors as the season progresses. All of the money raised will be ring-fenced to support the Alpine team and will be used to boost funding received from team sponsorships and National Squads investment provided by UK Sport to support Dave Ryding’s programme. Neil Foster, Partner at Brown Rudnick LLP, remarked: “Brown Rudnick has advised GB Snowsport as a pro bono client for several years, and we are particularly delighted to have helped with the launch of the Alpine Foundation, designed to fund the Alpine squad on a long term basis. The Charter for the Foundation has now been adopted and the first donations have been secured. This is a very important step in ensuring that the Olympic athletes and their team of coaches, technicians and physios can focus now on the season to come, which starts in Levi, Finland on 17th November. As we count down to the next winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina in early 2026, British ski racing has never been in a better position to compete for medals.” Victoria Gosling OBE Jason Cobbold Juliet Foster Read more here: https://lnkd.in/e2uHv-W2 Find out more about the GBS Alpine Foundation: https://lnkd.in/eg3v24w4

Partner Edward Naughton is quoted by Boston's NPR News Station WBUR regarding allegations that Massachusetts Treasurer Deborah Goldberg asked a state employee to delete public records, potentially violating public records laws. In a sworn testimony, former Massachusetts Lottery marketing chief Edward Farley said that Goldberg asked him to delete text exchanges between them. Massachusetts’ public records law requires state officials to maintain any correspondence, including text messages and emails, related to public business for three to five years. “The whole point of the public records law was to shine light,” said Naughton. “And text messages, private text messages, are something that's still in the shadows.” Click image to read or listen to the full article.
