Bruin Manufacturing Company: Pioneers in Precision Plastic Injection Molding Since 1949 Founded in 1949 by Clair and Dale Devick in Marshalltown, Iowa, Bruin Manufacturing Company began as a small job shop with three die-cast machines. By 1958, Bruin innovated the plastic injection molding industry with its first manually operated plastic injection molding machine, made from salvaged parts. This early innovation was followed by introducing an automatic molding machine in 1965, marking a significant milestone in the company’s development. From the 1970s through the 1990s, Bruin Manufacturing Company expanded its machine range, acquiring equipment with clamping capacities of 25 to 50 tons. Embracing the philosophy that "simplicity is the ultimate sophistication," Bruin focused on horizontal clamping and vertical injection techniques to enhance operational efficiency. In 2016, Bruin Manufacturing made a strategic shift by investing in larger horizontal injection molding machines and opening a second production facility in Newton, Iowa. This expansion allowed the company to produce larger parts and use standard transfer molds, significantly enhancing its production capabilities. Today, Bruin Manufacturing’s equipment ranges from 25 tons to 165 tons, reflecting its advanced production capabilities and dedication to superior customer service. As a top manufacturer of precision plastic injection components, Bruin utilizes cutting-edge lights-out production technology for continuous, automated operation, ensuring high-quality results and cost efficiency. Bruin Manufacturing offers a full range of services, including onsite engineering and tooling facilities, providing swift and cost-effective project completion from initial consultation through to the final molded product.
