#ThoughtfulThursday When searching for #customerexperience ideas and competitive advantage, it's so easy to overlook the fundamentals of building trust – like follow-through on answers and commitments. Who do you owe a follow-up to today?

INPUT REQUESTED: For examples in our #CustomerExperience training programs, please share real-world situations you have witnessed where… ▪️someone did the expected - unexpectedly well ▪️someone went above and beyond- especially if they made it their routine to do so ▪️a company or person made the ordinary into something special We’re expanding the portion of the content where we talk about exceeding expectations. We want to seed participants’ minds with ideas they can run with and make their own. THANK YOU in advance!

Gallup’s latest meta-analysis — the most comprehensive study on the employee experience — finds that the manager’s role is the most crucial in an organization. The quality of management is the driving force behind exceptional employee engagement and business success. Spanning 25 years and over 183,000 business units worldwide, the research shows that 70% of the variance in team engagement is determined solely by the manager. This means that managers have a significant impact on their team's performance and engagement, more than any other factor. The impact of a great manager goes beyond having happier employees — top-quartile teams report 23% higher profits than bottom-quartile units, as well as less absenteeism, reduced turnover and higher customer loyalty. With data from more than 64 million employees, this analysis offers a clear blueprint for leaders to understand the immense ROI of effective management practices. We are building a #customerexperience training program for Indiana's tourism and hospitality ecosystem. And we're doing it on location at over 20 Indiana destinations so the finished product is not just extremely helpful but distinctively Hoosier! This weekend took the team to Indiana's Original Capitol (downtown Corydon), Squire Boone Caverns, and the incomparable Holiday World & Splashin' Safari in Santa Claus. Thank you to the visitors bureaus and attraction hosts who helped coordinate, and thank you to Greg Zirkle for the content and energy!
