Conversations around women’s issues have taken center stage in the current presidential debates. With both candidates, a quarter of voters do not foresee a change in policies around women’s issues at all. How important are these policies to you and what do you think about the current debates around women’s issues? #WomenInPolitics #Vote2024 #2024Election

It was a big pleasure to share my thoughts at the closing plenary of the 30th NESG. I asked if we are measuring our SDGs interventions properly and asking the right question: to what end?
At Plenary V of the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit, themed "Race to 2030: Catalysing Sub-National Action Towards Meeting the SDGs," Oluseun Onigbinde, Global Director BudgIT, highlighted a critical misalignment between SDG-related challenges and current funding allocations. He attributed this disconnection to insufficient data, alongside deficiencies in accurate measurement and tracking mechanisms, which hinder effective progress monitoring and resource allocation towards achieving the SDGs. #NES30 #SDGs #RaceTo2030 #CollaborativeAction #GrowthandStability #Competitiveness

I had the honor of reiterating BudgIT’s commitment to making public budgets work for the people, resulting in tangible development that directly improves their living conditions. Congratulations, IBP, on the launch of your new strategy! This week, we joined the Transparency and Accountability Initiative, along with other key stakeholders, for the preview of the International Budget Partnership’s new strategy, designed to strengthen transparency and accountability in public financial management, and improve how resources are allocated and used. At the core of this strategy is the drive for people-centered, equitable budgets that prioritize the needs of citizens, ensuring that public resources are allocated fairly and used to advance inclusive growth. As we continue our efforts to make public finance more accessible and understandable to citizens, we are excited to collaborate with the International Budget Partnership and other partners to implement this strategy. Congratulations to International Budget Partnership and we look forward to working together on its successful execution. #GetInvolved

Day 4 at the World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings 2024. We've had insightful panel discussions on how the IMF collaborates with governments to address the digital gender divide, climate finance challenges, and emerging global economic trends. There were diverse perspectives on the effectiveness of these strategies, but one thing's clear: collaboration and innovation are crucial to driving positive change. I look forward to today's Global Public Finance Partnership (GPFP) session, where we'll explore how the IMF supports developing economies through fiscal capacity development.

We completed the 2024 Techwomen cohort last week, and it was an honor to engage with women innovators and leaders across various fields, including aerospace, education, agriculture, government, technology, and artificial intelligence. I learned so much from their diverse expertise. Indeed, no nation can succeed unless it embraces women's perspectives and collaborates to address common challenges. This experience has strengthened my determination to support women and create opportunities for them to excel. Thank you to the U.S. Department of State, the TechWomen team, our emerging leaders now fellows, our impact and cultural coaches, and our partner organizations for this year's recognition and unique experiences.
