As part of our “How It Started” interview series, we had the pleasure of chatting with Luna, Head of Impact at Ispire Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: ISPR). The company is engaged in the research and development, design, commercialization, sales, marketing and distribution of branded e-cigarettes and cannabis vaping products. Luna got her master's in urban education and social justice, and went on to teach at UC Santa Cruz, at public schools, in prisons, and worked with HIV-positive prisoners. She then transitioned full-time into the cannabis industry, running dab events and selling vape pens, and working with early movers like Jetty Extracts, where she was employee #1. While running a cannabis marketing firm, Ispire’s CEO asked her to join the company. Luna started in sales leadership and then moved into her current position, handling social impact and corporate social responsibility. Check out the whole interview! This frustration pushed him to start CannaBIZ Collects in 2017, the nation's first cannabis-focused collection agency. He saw how widespread the issue of managing receivables was for cannabis companies, so he launched CCA last year to finally offer a proactive solution to the industry.
