BBP is building a more connected bayou 🙌 An essential part of the Buffalo Bayou East 10-Year Plan is to connect and improve the patchwork of existing hike and bike trails along the bayou east of downtown and, this month, we have officially broken ground on the first new segment! Construction of the Downtown Gateway trail, a new trail segment on the north bank spanning from US 59 to Jensen Drive, is underway. Once completed, it will serve as a welcoming entrance into Buffalo Bayou East. Trail improvements are focused on safety and accessibility and will include 13- to 15-foot-wide multi-use paved trails, benches, wayfinding signage, and BBP's signature Lunar Cycle Lighting. Plans also include two bayou-crossing pedestrian bridges to unite the north and south bank trails. We are thrilled to help connect communities in Buffalo Bayou East to the bayou and each other. Find trail closure and construction updates on our website and stay tuned for more Buffalo Bayou East updates to come! #BuffaloBayouEast #BuffaloBayou #BuffaloBayouPartnership #Houston
