Outagamie County is proud to announce our latest investment in broadband! We are pleased to award a $2.7M ARPA grant to Brightspeed to extend and improve last-mile fiber connections to over 950 locations throughout the county. Brightspeed will be matching the county's investment dollar for dollar. The project will take approximately two years to fully build out. Highlights of the project include the following: - $5.4M total investment - 120 miles of new fiber lines - Minimum 200 Mbps download/upload speeds - 956 locations served including 678 unserved locations and 256 underserved locations - 659 housing units, 174 businesses, 123 community anchor institutions - Affordable internet service package with no installation fees - Construction of a fiber network throughout the northern part of Outagamie County Outagamie County's latest investment comes after we announced a $24M public/private partnership with Bug Tussel in 2023 to construct a middle mile network, fiber to the premises, and fixed wireless towers throughout the county.
