On the heels of NYC Climate Week, we've taken a bite out of the Big Apple's path to Net Zero in this latest article. NYC is making significant progress as a major city in the reduction of GHGs. "NYC contributed to 1.4% of national greenhouse gas emissions in 2019, and that’s as a notably climate-friendly city—Los Angeles accounted for nearly five times that amount." Other cities around the world have taken note to NYC's policies and actions and this ripple effect continues to make impacts not just in New York. #NYC #ClimateWeek #energytransition #netzero #sustainability #cities

About us
Build Edison helps clean tech companies get to scaled commercialization faster and more often. With Build Edison, they get a team of experts to transition their technologies to commercial growth and benefit to both customers and investors. Our clients include clean tech companies and entities that have vested interest in clean tech company or technology growth such as investors, strategics, and government innovation programs. Our facilities partners for demonstration projects span sectors such as utilities, REITs, municipalities, universities, and large commercial/industrials. 🗽Reflecting on #ClimateWeekNYC, the theme of driving cross-border, international #collaboration and #growth for sustainability-focused innovators was on full display🎯! Oui, oui, oui! I was fortunate to attend "Pitch Perfect: #Cleantech Solutions from #Québec for a Cleaner Climate Future," hosted by the Québec Government Office in New York and Impact Hub Network. Stephanie Diaz, BloombergNEF set the stage with her keynote reiterating the importance of fully pursuing all solutions including multiple #technology pathways for reaching #NetZero emissions. The event showcased some of Québec's most innovative cleantech companies -- H2O Innovation, OPTEL Group, Oneka Technologies, and ALTRA | SANEXEN -- each presenting their groundbreaking solutions aimed at fostering a cleaner economy and a healthier planet. The panel discussions -- featuring reps from NYC Mayor's Office of Climate & Environmental Justice, Maryland Department of the Environment, and Ancoris Capital Partners -- that followed each presentation further explored the various innovations and their respective potential impacts. It's exciting when real-time knowledge-sharing and ideation💡explore how innovations can be scaled and launched into new markets! 🚀 I traveled to NYC aboard the ⛴️ Courageous. I can't help but think about the powerful connection between courage, innovative spirit, and commitment to #sustainability. Embracing new policies, and technologies and collaborating across borders is no small feat, yet the need to navigate these challenges with bravery and determination is undeniable—essential. I also had the opportunity to join leaders from #Sweden and NYC in exploring the full potential of #building #decarbonization and #energyefficiency. Build Edison and The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce - New York hosted a fabulous discussion and networking reception, "Building for the Future". Anthony Fiore, Chief Program Officer, NYS at NYSERDA gave a great keynote and Kristin Barbato moderated "The Path to Decarbonization" panel including Jonathan Thompson, Benjamin Rodney, and Richard Yancey, FAIA, LEED AP. Several companies from the Swedish Energy Agency's Skyline Acceleration Program -- 3E flow, Ecoclime Group, ES ENERGY SAVING LTD, NODA Intelligent Systems, Modio Facility Assets AB, Vyer.com, and KTC International -- offered exciting proof points and potential for transforming energy efficiency and sustainability in our urban environments. Connecting with fellow attendees, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders is always a highlight. The conversations sparked new ideas and collaborations that -- je compte bien -- will drive #growth, geographic expansion, and positive change in our communities.
