The Burling team is making great progress on the Forest Preserves of Cook County Salt Creek Maintenance Headquarters. Currently, the team is managing the installation of the solar panels, which will be followed by the final cleaning! This state-of-the-art facility, net-zero facility is powered by electric, solar, and geothermal energy. The facility will house a new office and maintenance facility for FDP landscaping equipment and provide locker rooms and a main hub for park maintenance employees. New Project Award! The University of Chicago Bookstore HVAC systems have exceeded their useful service life and are in need of a building system redesign. The existing building consists of (4) floors of various uses, with a partially finished basement consisting of storage, mechanical space, and a preparator workspace. There are currently multiple HVAC systems (AHU 1-6 & CU 1-3) in the building. The system has been redesigned for the HVAC systems upgrades to a central system to ensure efficient servicing of the building as a whole. Congratulations to the Burling team for being awarded the University of Chicago Bookstore project! This is a testament to the trust and confidence clients have in Burling as a general contractor. We are thrilled to share the exciting progress of the Austin United Alliance Residence, part of the INVEST South/West Austin development. As the general contractor for Austin United Alliance, we are proud to announce that the construction is well underway, with foundation work and concrete columns nearing completion. We are currently focused on underground plumbing and electric work, with slab on grade prep scheduled to begin next week. We are excited to see the Austin United Alliance Residence come to fruition and provide much-needed housing options for the community. The $52MM development, consisting of 78 units, is a thoughtfully designed residence by Valerio Dewalt Train, the building will feature indoor parking spaces, an outdoor rooftop deck, a fitness room, a computer room, and a community room on the ground floor. Grace Manor Apartments Project Update! 🌟 Thrilled to share the latest progress on the remarkable Grace Manor Apartments project, a 100% affordable housing development in West Garfield Park! We're currently reaching new heights as we're in the midst of installing drywall on floors 2-6, marking a significant leap forward in the construction process. We recently completed the installation of the windows, a major milestone, and we're now making impressive strides in the installation of the exterior metal panel siding. Throwback Thursday! The Granville - Burling Builders served as the general contractor for the construction of a high-rise, market-rate, multi-family project. The condo building boasts a modern, open-concept design, featuring luxurious, spacious kitchens and bathrooms, floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies, in-unit laundry facilities, and large primary suites with walk-in closets. The interior is adorned with granite countertops, hardwood floors, and touches of marble, while the building also includes a green roof. The project encompassed the construction of 30,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and an enclosed parking structure. The Ribbon is cut and guests are checking in! 🎉 The Burling team is excited to share the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Illinois Medical District, Hampton Inn construction project. Yesterday, we celebrated the completion of this incredible project that will provide much-needed accommodation for visitors to the medical district. The ceremony featured remarks from key stakeholders, a tour of the newly completed hotel, and followed with a networking reception. A huge thank you to our partners at East Lake, Piekarz Associates P.C., and all of the subcontractors that helped to bring this project to completion.
