🌟 A Night Honoring America’s Ideals of Democracy and Freedom At the 2024 Fall Eisenhower Award Gala, the BENS community and our partners recognized a leader with one of the most distinguished careers in the recent history of the United States military – General Chris Cavoli. As head of the U.S. European Command and Supreme Allied Commander Europe, he expertly plans and executes NATO operations, lends expert insights as an eastern European scholar, and unites the U.S. and its allied nations. Join us in thanking Gen. Cavoli for his continued leadership to safeguard America as well as the balance, as President Eisenhower said, “between the actions of the moment and the national welfare of the future.” #EisenhowerAward #BENS #nationalsecurity #nationaldefense #NATO

At last night's Fall Eisenhower Award Gala with an audience of business and national security leaders, BENS President and CEO General Timothy Ray, USAF (Ret.), reflected on President Eisenhower’s approach to steer a nation in a time of global uncertainty. "Even when others thought the world was coming apart, he never lost hope that we would succeed,” he shared. “...America is at its best when we come together and recognize that ensuring our security and prosperity is a shared responsibility, one in which every member of society has a unique role to play…Not just the public sector or the private sector – but all of us working together.” As we face evolving risks and opportunities in today's world, BENS members continue to step forward to help our nation meet this moment. #EisenhowerAward #BENS #nationalsecurity #publicprivatepartnership

#BENS members were out in the Pacific with the US Navy 🛩️ 🌊 Check out one of our member's reflections on their recent overnight stay aboard the USS Nimitz, where members were granted the opportunity to observe naval operations and engage with the dedicated team keeping them–and our nation–moving. ⤵️ #Navy | #NavalOperations | #nationalsecurity
Feeling #grateful and #inspired after experiencing a “sleepover” aboard the USS NIMITZ somewhere off the coast of San Diego in the Pacific last week! Many thanks to the Business Executives for National Security (BENS) for making this trip of a lifetime a reality. Here’s the message I sent my family including my 86 year old submariner dad from the great United States Naval Academy Class of 1960! “I survived my Osprey flight and time on the aircraft carrier this week. Flying home today feeling tired but with my hope renewed. Renewal from talking to so many of the young sailors. Junior enlisted, lots of fellow Naval Academy grads!! So impressive!! They embody the best of our nation. And while I head home to family and friends and back the life of a #ceo (#servantleader) this amazing crew will continue to meet their Mission 24/7/365. One of the highlights for me was having breakfast with four sailors ages 19 to 24 and their enthusiasm for what they do everyday. Over scrambled eggs and biscuits one sailor told me of completing the obligatory time in the galley and how she initially resented it, but then was glad to be part of a mess decks team that cared for each other. Some things never change. One sailor was an electronics technician and she talked about working on helicopters in the dark on the flight deck in the middle of the night. The night before while witnessing nighttime flight operations from vultures row above the carrier’s flight deck, we had seen the mechanics working in the shadows - turning wrenches in the dark on helicopters just feet from F-18s swooping in for landings. Powerful!!” A lot has changed since I left the Navy in 1994…but the constant ALWAYS is the PEOPLE. Take care of your people, the sons and daughters of our nation.
