In Memory of Ray Leshynski. Ray,RIP! but Return if Possible.. It is with deep sorrow that Prathiba and I share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear colleague and Business Integra’s fatherly figure, Ray Leshynski. Ray passed away on October 7th at approximately 2:30 PM EST, following complications from a thoracentesis procedure. Ray joined Business Integra on June 30th, 2009, as Vice President for the federal business. With exceptional vision and leadership, he was instrumental in establishing and building the GovCon division at BI. Ray was one of the hardest workers we have known and a valued member of our team. He worked until last week despite his ailments, and his dedication, positivity and commitment inspired us all. We cannot overstate his importance to both our company and customers. Ray was admitted to UVA Health at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas, VA last week due to chest pain and difficulty breathing. The hospital provided excellent care, promptly performing an angioplasty and stenting, a percutaneous coronary intervention. I personally know the physician who performed the procedure, and despite a 30% risk, the three-hour operation was successful. Ray was recovering well until Monday morning, but complications arose later following a thoracentesis. This has been especially difficult for Prathiba and me, as just few hours ago, Ray called us from the hospital, saying he was breathing well and expected to return to work soon. I have several fond memories of ray from our combined trip to India in 2016 where we developed more a father and son like relationship. We visited New Delhi, Taj Mahal, and Chennai and then stayed at Prathiba's home. We visited my village in Pondicherry leading us both to hold some indelibly fond memories. I wanted to reach out and share this news with you because Ray was such an important person in our life, and I know he held a special place in your heart as well. Everyone who had the privilege of working with Ray will miss him deeply. He will always be remembered for his incredible charm and unmatched sense of humor. While we will all feel his absence, it’s his warmth and mentorship that I will miss the most. Over the past 15 years, Ray mentored me, teaching me the intricacies of Capture and Business Development, and essentially shaping my understanding of the GovCon business. I miss him dearly. In honor of Ray, we extend our deepest condolences to his family during this difficult time. His contributions to Business Integra will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
