We had a terrific turnout at the Stockertown Plant Health and Safety Fair, and our Corporate Benefits Team enjoyed spending time with our fantastic employees! Our employees also enjoyed lunch, received a gift for attending, and won raffle prizes. Thanks to our vendors National Vision Administrators (NVA), Highmark Inc., Principal Financial Group, and United Concordia Dental for making the day successful by providing our employees the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about their benefits. Additionally, Integrated Health 21 conducted biometric screenings, along with providing nutrition information for attendees. 🩺❤️

Our Chattanooga Plant hosted Tennessee Representative Chuck Fleischmann for a plant tour earlier this week. Buzzi Unicem USA employees and Portland Cement Association’s Sr. VP of Government Affairs spent time with Rep. Fleischmann discussing key cement industry issues concerning Alternative Fuels appropriations language, and regulatory barriers such as Portland Cement National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants.

The Portland Cement Association recognized our Festus Plant with the Environmental Performance Award for their outstanding achievements in implementing new environmental initiatives. The award was given at a ceremony held during the annual Cement Fly-In meeting in Washington, D.C last week. Our Festus Plant dramatically increased the amount of natural gas usage in their kiln and fully converted to Type IL cement production in 2023. Both of these initiatives were undertaken as part of our 2030 Roadmap to achieving net zero carbon emissions. Congratulations to our Festus Plant on their award!

Thanks to @Portland Cement Association for recognizing the importance of safety in our industry, and for highlighting our leaders expressing their gratitude for our employees AND commitment to keeping them safe! https://lnkd.in/ehPAHhCj
Worker safety is at the heart of every U.S. cement plant. Although PCA recognizes June as safety month – held in conjunction with National Safety Month – safety is the top priority at every U.S. cement plant every single day of the year. It’s a sentiment emphatically shared by cement industry leadership. To all the people at the plants who are helping build America — thank you, and please take care! #PCASafetyMonth #WorkplaceSafety #NSM #NationalSafetyMonth

Managers and supervisors from our Festus Plant came together earlier this month to further develop their leadership skills. Our team members focused on ways to connect with their direct reports, and improve their communication and listening skills, which are keys to building strong relationships and moving toward a more connected culture. Additionally, Jefferson R-VII School District generously allowed our training sessions to be held at their beautiful Performance Arts Center. We thank them for their continued partnership with our Festus Plant! Here’s to another fantastic week of training, as Buzzi Unicem USA continues to support our leaders in growing their skills!

Buzzi Unicem USA’s Stockertown Plant and Corporate Office participated in National “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day,” observing the theme “Inspire 2 Aspire.” Our young visitors learned about the operations of the plant and the various professions at Stockertown, as managers and supervisors led talks on the role each department plays in making cement. The kids toured the heavy equipment trucks used in the quarry and the plant, observed a welding demonstration, and watched a drone surveying demonstration, with the opportunity to fly drones themselves. Additionally, our visitors painted molded cement magnets and birdhouses, and were treated to a reptile show, where they held snakes, tortoises, and a baby alligator! Thank you to our generous Stockertown employees who made the day special for all of our young guests! #stakeholderengagement

Today we celebrate World Day for Health and Safety at Work. In line with the company policy, we are aware that when our daily actions prioritize #safety, we convey a fundamental message to all our collaborators: safety is a non-negotiable priority that must be ensured in every area, always. Over the past 6 months, we have updated the Group policy, presenting it to the organization through new multimedia materials and workshops, facilitating interaction and sharing experiences to achieve the "Zero Injuries" goal. #Buzzi #WorldDayforSafetyandHealththatWork
