Whom do you serve? In a life of service to others, you must have clarity on whom you serve, how you can bring value into their lives, and why you do it persistently and consistently, day in and day out, with kindness and gratitude. Yesterday, we spoke to the motivation, the why. Today, we congratulate the resilient hearts in the school of hard knocks, the survivors. These are good working people worthy of our service, our guidance, allowing them to live their best life today and an even better life in the future. Tomorrow, we will share how we can add value, at least from our perspective, to empower our survivors to live that best life. Do you know whom you serve? Put your thoughts in the comments below.

Do you know your WHY? Understanding your WHY means knowing the deeper reasons behind your actions. It’s the foundation that sustains you, inspires others, and drives your business forward with purpose and passion. Can you describe your WHY? Are you able to share it? Knowing your WHY is as important as knowing who you serve. We’ll delve into that more tomorrow. Type YES in the comments if you live and breathe a strong WHY.

Are you thriving, ...striving, ... ...or simply surviving? You have the vision. You know what your life is supposed to look like. You're not afraid to go for it, but try as you might, time and time again, you keep coming up short. Yet you survive for another day. You're determined, you're relentless, you're persistent, yet nothing seems to work. But you're a survivor, ready to try once more. You are diligent, focused, and resilient, but despite your best efforts to strive, you fail to thrive. At the very least, you survive. Try as you might, nothing is happening. There's no reaction, no momentum, no movement at all. It's as if you, your goals, and the cosmos surrounding you are entirely out of alignment, out of phase. Mere existence is out of the question; survival is your only viable option. Like it or not, life is making you wait. Delayed why, for what? Who knows, but in the interim, you spend almost every minute of your time surviving, and you must survive if you ever hope to win somewhere down the road. If this sounds like you, here are a few valuable survival skills. Put this survival time to good use by learning to live the best life possible under the circumstances. Even as a survivor, it's crucial that you continue to put your best foot forward, to strive, to grow, to thrive, and eventually, you can turn the tide. Learn to be resilient and resolute in adversity, to show tenacity and grit amid hardship. Difficult as it may be, find hope and clarity in confusion, persist, and prevail through all the challenges. Even now, as a survivor, find the hidden nuggets, be grateful for the opportunity, and live your best life possible. You must keep surviving, and living, and hoping, and dreaming ~ until the pendulum finally swings and success beckons. Learn to survive in order to strive until you thrive. It's time to turn adversity into opportunity, setbacks into comebacks, lemons into lemonade. Use this moment to be valuable to others and honest with yourself. Try to excel at finding the best outcomes for any situation. No matter where you currently stand, there's always a way to enhance your life and make it more fulfilling and rewarding. If you need help, I can help. I’ve been there, done that, often more than once! It's time to share what I have learned to show how to make the most out of life, regardless of circumstance, surroundings, or situation. Talk to me about your situation, challenges, and desires, and let's find you some relief, both for the short term and for the future. Your survivalist journey starts now. Links in the bio. Living a life dedicated to service … … to others can be both rewarding and demanding. How do you cope, navigating the highs and lows, riding the roller-coaster of emotions? Are you simultaneously grappling with confusion yet finding fulfillment? Is each passing moment a descent into chaos, yet somehow crystal clear? Perhaps you’re experiencing a blend of deep sorrow and profound joy. In today’s multifaceted society, excelling in a life of service demands not just acquired skills and knowledge but also exposes you to a whirlwind of emotions and difficulties. Consider emergency responders, law enforcement, journalists, and reporters, who confront high-stress scenarios and harrowing events, often grappling with distressing imagery and crises that drain them emotionally. Similarly, healthcare professionals, social workers, teachers, and crisis counselors face intricate cases fraught with suffering and loss, testing their emotional fortitude and resilience. Humanitarian aid workers, caregivers, and therapists offer solace, relief, and support, navigating intricate emotional landscapes and making great personal sacrifices. And then there are those in military service, grappling with challenges and traumas that I can hardly fathom. Your service is invaluable, and I express my deepest gratitude. Despite the diversity of these roles in the service of others, one common denominator binds these individuals together: the necessity to maintain strong personal boundaries and self-care practices. So, how do you weather life’s roller-coaster? Share your insights in the comments below. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need a soft shoulder or a quiet conversation. Show your courage by asking for help. In our lifetime of service, we’ve traversed a similar path and emerged stronger. Allow us to illuminate your journey ahead. For some, it's going out the front door and coming back in through the side door. For others, they take a drive to the local coffee shop, get their morning Java and then head back home to get the workday started. Do whatever it takes to be professional and productive.

Simple tip for remote work: Take a shower and get dressed as if you were actually going into the office. This helps put your mind into work mode rather than vacation mode since you're at home. Sitting in your nightwear will have you feeling less energized and ready to start the day. #remotework #productivitytips

As a coach or mentor, you understand … … the concept of structure, discipline, consistency, and persistence, but have you appreciated how these elements relate to our more commonly discussed qualities of mindset, skillset, and toolset? Let’s start with the Foundation. The “Foundation” can be associated with elements of both mindset and skillset. It represents the core beliefs, values, and competencies that underpin an individual’s personal development journey. It’s the base upon which mindset and skillset are built. So, where do we position Structure? “Structure” primarily relates to skillset and toolset. It’s about creating organized plans, strategies, and systems to support personal development goals. This involves setting up a structure to develop and apply specific skills and utilize tools effectively. The next element to consider is Discipline. “Discipline” is a crucial element that spans all four categories. It is closely tied to mindset because it requires mental discipline and self-control to maintain a positive attitude and focus on goals. It also pertains to skillset because it involves the discipline to learn and improve skills. In the context of toolset, discipline is necessary for using tools and resources consistently and effectively. Overall, discipline plays a central role in personal development. Where do we rank Consistency? “Consistency” is associated with both mindset and skillset. It involves having a mindset that values and seeks consistency in actions and behaviors. It’s also about consistently applying and practicing the skills and tools that support personal development. Consistency is the bridge that connects the mindset’s desire for growth with the practical application of skills and tools. And lastly, we have Persistence. “Persistence” is primarily a mindset element. It refers to the determination and resilience to continue working toward personal development goals despite challenges and setbacks. It’s closely related to having a growth mindset, which values effort and persistence as essential for progress. These four elements are interrelated and play different roles within the broader framework of personal development. While the “Foundation” provides the basis for growth, “Structure” and “Discipline” help organize and support the journey. “Consistency” and “Persistence” are essential mindset qualities that drive and sustain personal development efforts. How does this relate to or differ from your endeavors to guide others? Please feel free to continue the conversation below. We could all benefit from the innocence of a room full of puppies!

WELCOME EACH NEW DAY IN PUPPYLAND ‘Musings of my #lifelessons series’ by Richard DiPilla In an ideal world, each day would begin with a room full of puppies, their wagging tails and joyful yips filling the air with warmth and happiness. Imagine the sight of a dozen furry bundles of energy, eager to greet the day and spread love to all they encounter. If everyone, including even the grumpiest dictators and evildoers, could experience the pure joy and innocence of puppyhood, surely even the most hardened hearts would soften, melting away animosity and hostility. In this imagined "puppyland," the simple presence of these lovable creatures would serve as a powerful force for peace and understanding. Their unconditional love and boundless enthusiasm would inspire compassion and empathy, fostering a sense of unity and connection among all beings. In the presence of such innocence and joy, conflicts would dissolve, and differences would be set aside in favor of harmony and cooperation. While this vision may seem utopian, it serves as a reminder of the transformative power of love and kindness. Even in the face of darkness and strife, the warmth of a puppy's affection has the potential to touch hearts and heal wounds, reminding us of our shared humanity and the inherent goodness within us all. #Puppies #Love #Peace #Unity Hopefully you enjoy my posts and will follow me on LinkedIn.
