Transforming Motion with Electrostatic Motors.
About us
C-Motive's mission is to create electric machines that directly lead to reduced carbon emissions through higher efficiency renewable generators applicable to the next generation of e-mobility vehicles and more efficient industrial torque motors. C-Motive's unmatched torque, efficiency, and simplicity will lead to a new generation of applications that create more renewable power and waste less electricity. C-Motive's motors run on the principle of electrostatic forces, also known as "static cling," and stands to change the machines that shape and run our lives. Our motors produce torque by the same principle of rubbing a balloon on a head of hair. And just like hair doesn't heat up with the balloon, our motors produce torque with nearly zero loss, versus using copper coils wound around steel with rare earth permanent magnets.

C-Motive was selected by CERAWeek as part of the Energy Innovation Pioneers program! Each year, the Energy Innovation Pioneers program at CERAWeek showcases a handpicked collection of emerging startups focused on early-stage innovations set to revolutionize the global energy industry. The selected companies represent the determination for innovation in with the energy sector. Our CEO Matthew Maroon will be speaking about the Future of Electric motors tonight in the Agora Innovation Pod 5 at 5:30pm as well as participate as a panelist tomorrow morning at 9:30am to talk about Accelerating Decentralized and Resilient Energy Systems. The CERAWeek team says, "This year’s honorees represent the emerging technologies and business models that are driving the pace and pathways of the energy transition—to quickly decarbonize our existing energy systems (such as distributed hydrogen generation, geothermal heating and cooling, methane mitigation of oil and gas wells) and enable the energy systems of the future (such as electrostatic motors, hybrid intelligent electricity transformers, rare earth element recycling and processing, solid sorbent carbon capture materials)." The 2024 class of Energy Innovation Pioneers also includes: • Joselyn Lai, Co-founder and CEO of Bedrock Energy • Mark Ranalli, President and CEO of BioSqueeze Inc. • Ahmad Ghahreman, CEO, President and Co-founder of Cyclic Materials • Matthew Williams, Founder and CEO of IONATE • Tony Pan, CEO and Co-founder of Modern Hydrogen • Claude Letourneau, ICD.D, President and CEO of Svante To read more about CERAWeek and the Energy Innovation Pioneers program, follow the link below!
