Congratulations are in order to C-TRAN Field Operations and Planning Analyst Mercedes Grams for receiving an American Public Transportation Foundation (APTF) scholarship! The APTF program provides scholarships to college students or transit professionals pursuing advanced degrees in order to grow their careers. Recipients were presented with their scholarships at the recent American Public Transportation Association TRANSform conference. Virgle Elliot and Larry Moore are C-TRAN's longest-tenured operators, starting their careers in 1990 and 1991, respectively. Yesterday, we had the pleasure of taking Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Acting Administrator Veronica Vanterpool through downtown Vancouver to highlight The Vine on Mill Plain and other projects. Joined by FTA Regional Administrator Susan Fletcher, City of Vancouver, Washington Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle, and others, we discussed existing and future bus rapid transit (BRT) corridors and their impact on the C-TRAN system and our community as a whole. Service improvements such as BRT help us increase safe, reliable, and efficient transportation options and are possible thanks to support from partners like FTA. These improvements benefit us not only locally in Clark County but also support our larger regional transportation network. #ctran #VanWa #ClarkCountyWa #CatchTheVine #PublicTransit
