CAAPLE members & allies…Let’s help amplify the voices and stories of the AAPI community! Please share this with your AAPI students, parents, and relevant networks. The annual AAPI Student Scholarship Contest & Exhibition from Make Noise Today is open for submission. This year's theme: "AAPI Joy: Anchor of Hope and Blueprint for Change." This year's exhibition launch will be a youth showcase on Sat., May 31st, which will include the student exhibit, workshops, a student activation and student performances.

Febraury 19th is Day of Remembrance. It has been 83 years since Executive Order 9066 was signed, leading to the mass incarceration of 120,000 Americans of Japanese descent. This day honors the resilience of those unjustly detained and serves as a powerful reminder of the dangers of racial prejudice and government overreach. To commemorate this history, numerous organizations—including the New York Day of Remembrance Committee, Tsuru for Solidarity, the Asian American Studies Program at UPenn’s School of Arts and Sciences, and La Resistencia—are hosting both online and in-person events. If you have the time, we encourage you to explore these resources to learn more and reflect on this important, dark chapter in US history.
