Check out this stunning Merillat Classic kitchen showcasing Painted Bluff—a soft, warm tone that has quickly become a favorite among designers and homeowners since its launch in 2023. Its versatility shines in this space, beautifully paired with a bold Maple Basalt island to create a perfect balance of light and contrast. Bluff isn’t just for the kitchen—it’s the perfect finish for creating a cohesive home design. In November, our country recognized Veterans Day, a national holiday honoring the military veterans of the United States Armed Forces. We hold tremendous gratitude for those who serve and must acknowledge the everyday heroes living among us. One way we express our appreciation is through our partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation's R.I.S.E. program (Restoring Independence, Supporting Empowerment), which builds mortgage-free, specially adapted smart homes for severely wounded heroes. Since 2023, we have supported this organization because we believe everyone deserves a home that not only provides essential functions—like bathing, cooking, and sleeping—but also offers comfort and accessibility, creating a space for lasting family memories. We had the privilege of recognizing retired U.S. Army Ranger Joshua Hargis on November 12th as he and his family walked through their new, fully accessible home. In 2012, Hargis graduated from the Army’s premier leadership course, Ranger School, and trained to become a K9 Handler within the 75th Ranger Regiment. He completed four deployments to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom, and tragically, during his last deployment, he lost both legs in a night raid due to buried IEDs and targets wearing explosive vests concealed under their clothing. His unit sustained catastrophic injuries. Four members of his unit, including his K9 companion, lost their lives. We salute U.S. Army Ranger Hargis for his courageous service and are honored to provide all-new cabinetry for the kitchen and other areas of his new home, designed with our partner US LBM, to allow the Hargis family to spend even more cherished time together. Our sincerest thanks go out to all our military personnel and first responders.
