  • This week, we were excited to officially launch our sessions at ACE at Bretonside, following a successful introduction. At Caerus, we recognise that every student’s journey is different, which is why we tailor our approach to meet the specific needs of both the students and the school. From discussions about interests and skills to exploring future opportunities, the students we met had all the right pieces; they just needed guidance to put the puzzle together. With clear dreams and goals, and a ‘hopeful’ vision for the future, they are on the path to success. Everyone has their own story, and sometimes all it takes is a little support to complete the picture. #Caerus #ACESchools #FutureThinking #Skills #Hopeful

  • In celebration of English Tourism Week, we wanted to share some of the places that our students love in Plymouth. The National Marine Aquarium and Smeaton's Tower were among the top responses; these are places they often visit, creating positive memories and connections to Plymouth's vibrant tourism sector. As part of our ongoing work within the community, we’re excited to learn more about what resonates with the younger generation and how they view their city's tourism landscape. We love these drawn images from students in local secondary schools in Plymouth and we look forward to sharing more with you throughout this week. Here’s to recognising and supporting the places and people that drive tourism in Plymouth. • This week, we’ve reflected on what brings us joy and uncovers hidden skills in the things we love. It's also been a chance to think about how we can elevate ourselves - whether by trying something new, learning a skill or revisiting a forgotten passion. In celebration of International Women’s Day and the close of National Careers Week, we asked Tiffanie Kavanagh who leads the Caerus initiative, what elevates her. Tiff shared: “With the demands of family and a busy work life, it’s easy to forget yourself. Reflecting helped me reassess what I’d put aside and reconnect with what truly matters.” As we celebrate women today, let’s remember that true elevation begins with reflection, growth and prioritising what empowers us. #IWD2025 #AccelerateAction #Reflection #ElevateYou #Skills

  • Kira Jenkins, a Level 3 Business Administrator apprentice at City College Plymouth, aspires to become a project manager. Throughout her apprenticeship, she has shown strong drive and a commitment to personal growth. This term, Kira engaged in a Caerus on Campus session. She said, “It allowed me to express myself freely. I realised that I lacked confidence.” This self-awareness became a turning point in her development. Since then, Kira has sought more experiences through off-the-job training to build confidence, which is crucial for her future career in project management. Her goal is to have “lots of different connections and opportunities,” and her new focus on confidence is helping her engage more with colleagues, mentors, and professionals. The Caerus session has been instrumental in helping Kira identify areas for growth and take proactive steps toward her goals, demonstrating how the programme empowers individuals to reach their potential. #Caerus #Apprentices #Skills #NCW2025 #PersonalDevelopment

  • Another fantastic session during National Careers Week! Thank you to Tor Bridge High for the opportunity to engage with your Year 7 students today, along with hosting a pop-up event; such energy and enthusiasm! The session, delivered during PSHE, was filled with insightful conversations and creativity. We were particularly impressed by how well the students understood key skills at such an early stage. We’re excited to build on this momentum and continue our collaboration moving forward. Tor Bridge High Ted Wragg Trust #Caerus #Skills #NCW2025 #TorBridgeHigh #Qualities

  • As we kick off National Careers Week 2025, we’re reminded that the things you like to do and the reasons why you choose to do them play a key role in our lives and even more so when thinking about the future. Quite often people struggle when it comes to talking about hobbies and interests, but let's change the narrative. You may not be part of a football team or have a list of immediate interests that you can roll off, but we all have things that we do that highlight who we are. This week, we start our Elevate You message with our youngest secondary school audience - some Year 7 students who are starting to understand that all the things they do can speak volumes in relation to their skills and qualities. #Caerus #BuildingBrighterFutures #NCW2025 #Skills #Qualities
