    It was an honor to attend this week’s California Diversity Summit as a member of the Department of Insurance Diversity Task Force and to represent the California LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce. The event kicked off with a pre-event on Monday and continued with a half-day of powerful conversations on Tuesday, featuring a fireside chat with Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara and insights into diverse spending in the insurance industry. This presentation will focus on findings from a series of Williams Institute reports on the lived experiences of LGBTQ adults in Los Angeles County. Presenters will discuss issues that are likely applicable to LGBTQ communities throughout the state—including affordability, safety, discrimination, violence, family formation, and access to resources.
