In 2024, California refined more crude oil from OPEC+ countries (209 MMbbl) than California and Alaska combined (187 MMbbl). 94% of Iraqi oil imported to the United States went to California. Is this what a sustainable clean energy future looks like? Creating jobs for OPEC+ countries.

Time to Unleash Permits in California: - $500 Million spent on goods and services in counties where Chevron operates (2023). - Supporting community groups. - More money staying within California vs. going overseas. - More jobs staying in California. - More tax revenue for the counties in which companies operate: impacting safety, education, maintenance. - Highest regulatory standards in the world.

CALIFORNIA GASOLINE PRICES...THE HIGHEST IN THE U.S. Hello Everyone, California's exceptionally high retail gasoline prices continue to plague consumers in the Golden State, and is especially harsh on lower income individuals, working families, and fixed income seniors. To ascertain why, I completed a 50-year study of gasoline prices and policies in California.The short summary is that refiners, oil producers, and gasoline station owners are NOT responsible for the high prices. The high prices can be traced directly to CA taxes, fees, and costs associated with its policies, especially to CA's cap and trade and the LCFS, special blend. Unfortunately, for Californians, retail gasoline prices will only go higher as refiners, such as Phillips, exit the state and more regulatory costs are layer and buredened on the consumer. As a member of the Taft Oil & Technology Academy Steering Committee, I had the honor to join Taft UHSD Superintendent Jason Hodgson, Instructor/Coordinator Ted Pendergrass, George Harmer (Californians for Energy & Science) and Manny Campos (Community Leader/small business owner/educator) for a few days in Sacramento with Student Leaders. Wow. The meetings with State Legislators & Staff were led by the students and discussion topics ranged from energy security, why local production of oil is important (verses importing over 70%), the impact of State regulations to communities and working families in rural areas, especially on the Westside of Kern County. The students did their research, asked great questions and honestly left folks in Sacramento at times speechless. Thank you to staff members from Lt. Governor Eleni Kounalakis office, Senators Gonzalez, Limon, Anna Caballero, Ochoa Bogh, Becker, Rubio, Dahle and AM Dr. Baines. Thank you Senator Shannon Grove for opening up so many doors and ensuring Senators also met with the students during their time walking the halls. I even ran into Assembly Speaker Rivas who took the time to meet a few of the students (: Mr. Fred Holmes, you and your family are also Rock Stars. Your support and investments over decades to support the students is really unheard of. College scholarships to help many first generation students attend college, earn degrees- and be of service- makes me speechless. #ValleyStrong
