About us

Call for Culture is a Black owned, woman-owned business that exists to drive positive and bold social change by transforming organizations and leaders into conscious changemakers from the inside out. We believe that if it's happening in the world, it's happening at work - which means it's time to challenge tired leadership paradigms and empower leaders to create impactful legacies by shaping responsible, inclusive, equitable, and change-ready workplace cultures. By stepping outside of the traditional boundaries of HR, we take an actionable, multidisciplinary approach (The Call for Culture Method) to help companies, organizations, and industries hone the capabilities and strategies they need to future proof their organization and transform them into human-centered workplaces that create social impact.

We're passing the mic to you! We are delighted to invite dynamic and innovative speakers to apply for the 2025 Culture Impact Lab: a Call for Culture, an event dedicated to reimagining the role of work in social impact. This year, we are seeking speakers who can engage our community with their deep knowledge, unique experiences, and visionary insights across a variety of themes including workplace culture, social impact, leadership, diversity and inclusion, or related fields. If you're interested in applying, take read of our commitment to speaker equity, diversity, and inclusion below and our Speaker Requirements, Experience, and Timelines available in the application! EQUITY: We believe that speakers contributing to a paid event deserve to be compensated for sharing their expertise and unique experiences. We aim to be role models in providing pay transparency as a part of our gathering to challenge the traditional conference model that often lacks equity and transparency around how and if speakers are compensated. We hope that other conferences and events follow suite to this important conversation so that participants can make an informed purchase and investment that aligns with their values. Our speakers are compensated for their time and contributions to the Culture Impact Lab, with a stipend of $2,000 for local speakers and $2,500 for traveling speakers. Additionally, speakers have the option to donate their honorarium (or a portion of it) to sponsor an attendee if they wish: DIVERSITY: We actively seek a diverse range of speakers to broaden perspectives and enrich the dialogue. Our focus is on providing a platform for underrepresented voices, addressing historical imbalances that have created inequities in who gets to share their ideas on stage. By doing so, we create opportunities for our speakers and benefit our participants through their knowledge and perspectives. INCLUSION: We work hard to ensure that our speaker community is an active part of the Culture Impact Lab community. We aim to provide clarity and support to speakers leading up to the event, hold speaker community calls, and create a supportive experience while people are onsite to ensure they are given the tools and resources to shine! All speakers are asked to join the entire 2-day event to immerse themselves with the community and contribute to their own learning and development. Many of our speakers end up being hired by other participants due to closeness our community creates! Photo Credit: Lena Jackson featuring Bhavik (ભાવિક) R. Shah (2024 Culture Impact Lab Speaker)

If it’s happening in the world, it’s happening at work and at the Culture Impact Lab 2024, we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves with the often-overlooked challenges of formerly incarcerated individuals reintegrating into society and the workplace. Partnering with Lawndale Christian Legal Center (LCLC) a non-profit dedicated to providing support and opportunities for these individuals, Payal Beri, PhD and RK Empathy invited participants to explore the intersection of social responsibility and workplace inclusion. Through a powerful storytelling experience, we heard from members of LCLC like Lisa Alcorn who shed light on the systemic barriers and offered up insights into their work and the experiences of their clients, providing a deeper understanding of the journey from incarceration to employment and how organizations can play a significant role in the realities of reentry and the impact on our communities. Lisa was also a participant of the Culture Impact Lab over the 2 days and contributed to helping other participants re-think traditional employment. By participating in this session, participants had the opportunity to ignite conversations, dismantle stigma, and create pathways for meaningful change within their organizations and communities - what the Culture Impact Lab is all about! ================================================= Hey 👋 we’re Call for Culture- creators of the Culture Impact Lab - our annual gathering and community focused on mobilizing our collective strength to build a better world and better world of work through community leadership and culture building. It is designed for and unites social impact leaders (industry and sector agnostic) called to reimagine the role of work in society - advancing collective liberation, connecting to our shared humanity, and progressing a more equitable and just future for all. Every workplace can turn into a social enterprise that has a powerful impact on their communities and beyond, and in this shared space, we tap back into the signals and connections that allow us to advance our work. With the rise and disruption of tech, AI, and digital transformation, will tech-enabled listening channels be able to deliver the real-time feedback and sentiment from employees needed to help us drive organizational justice and organizational outcomes and performance? Chris Powell and his team at Talmetrix are not only our assessment partners (and real life BFFs) at Call for Culture, but they are on the leading edge of how to combine science and practice to measure the unique factors that elevate the employee experience and drive organizational outcomes in meaningful ways. Technology can be a powerful tool for listening and should enable use to be *more* human. “Language doesn’t just describe reality, it creates the reality is describes” Kim Clark Connection and storytelling are crucial parts of the human experience and culture change. But what happens when you're working through culture change that requires people to lean in further into territory that feels scary or outside the realm of comfort? Your Commitment to DEI? The Election in November? World Events? Social Issues that Impact Work? Gone are the days where "work is *just* work." Employees are expecting responsive organizations and responsive leaders to "communicate like they give a damn." Kim Clark worked with our participants at the Culture Impact Lab - helping them understand the crucial role of internal communications and how to communicate meet the moment using an example that requires a deep focus on the connection between language and behavior (Diversity, Representation, Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging). The dominant narrative about conferences and learning is that we have to be on, pack in all the content and networking, attend all the events. But science tells us that the brain and body are intimately interacting with each other to translate experiences into knowledge and knowledge into action. The research tells us that your brain needs breaks, and getting more connected to your body intentionally increases awareness, learning, and knowledge transfer. Consider this: by packing in content and not giving humans time to integrate the knowledge through organic connection time is doubling up on negative impact - your participants are tired *and* they aren't learning as much as they could. This was a BIG learning for us at Call for Culture around the Culture Impact Lab - sometimes less more carefully curated learning = a bigger impact. That's why we kicked off each day of the lab with a mindful moment with Raymond Achille on our team. It was an opportunity to more deeply set out intentions together and create some space for a regulated nervous system before engaging our brains and bodies into movement and action. A strong mindfulness practice is a must for changemakers looking to change the status quo! ================================================= Hey 👋 we're Call for Culture- creators of the Culture Impact Lab - our annual gathering and community focused on mobilizing our collective strength to build a better world and better world of work through community leadership and culture building.
