As the weather hopefully begins to cool, we are eager to introduce our Fall 2024 cohort of campaign interns! These driven college students are excited to support our team. Here’s a little bit more about each of them as they are pictured, left to right: Elijah Hodges is a senior public relations major at Lipscomb University. Elijah is originally from Dallas, is interested in a career as a PR specialist, and his favorite food is brisket. Ansley Steele is a junior at Vanderbilt University studying political science and history from San Antonio, Texas. Ansley is interested in going to law school and potentially a career in government. Her ideal meal is pesto pasta. Sara-Kate Wiseman, our remote intern joining from Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a senior public relations major at Western Kentucky University. Sara-Kate hails from Louisville, Kentucky, and also would like to pursue a career in public relations. Her favorite food is carbonara pasta. Jordyn Robinson is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in May of 2024, where she majored in political science with a concentration in international affairs. She plans to go to law school and pursue a career in law. Her favorite food is anything Italian. Hunter Wanamaker is also a junior at Vanderbilt University. He is majoring in history and economics and would like to pursue a career in law or government. Hunter’s favorite food is butter chicken.

Zoning changes can be tricky. The United States needs more housing. Both are true, and we at Calvert Street support civil and informed discussion focused on solutions. Thanks to the Nevada Current for this recent article about the struggle in municipalities across the nation where policymakers, residents, and developers are working - and arguing - on how to address the situation.

Michael Lee has been making our clients' creative dreams come true and rescuing our team from tight spots on projects for two years now. We are grateful for his talent and always-willing-to-jump-in-and-stay-late attitude as our designer. His logos, collateral materials, videos, and other work have earned multiple Pollie awards from the American Association of Political Consultants. But the real prize is just being able to call him our colleague. Thanks for being such a vital part of our team, Michael, and happy work-a-versary!

Today we’re celebrating another win-win for our client and the community upon receiving Nashville Metro Council’s approval of NOVEL Richland Creek, a mixed-use residential development to be built at the site of a vacant department store on White Bridge Road. Benefits for Nashvillians include traffic safety improvements for pedestrians, bikers, bus-goers, and drivers; sustainable housing in a city desperate for more housing options; an extension of the Richland Creek Greenway; and new business opportunities for the Lionshead Shopping Center. Congratulations to our team members, Mark Drury Sarah Tylutki, Rob Dobie, and Taylor Gentry, as well as all those who have worked so hard to bring this project through the process: Simcha Ward and the team at Crescent Communities, Barge Cauthen, 906 Studio Architects + Interiors, Hawkins Partners Inc, KCI Technologies, Inc., Holland & Knight LLP, KTGY, Fifth Gen Nashville, and Councilmember Brenda Gadd, J. D.

Social media’s ability to amplify fringe opinions often presents a skewed representation of societal norms, posing a challenge for businesses trying to understand their market space. At Calvert Street, we excel in providing clarity and strategic insight into these complex digital interactions. By deploying advanced data analysis and engagement tactics, we help businesses use social media strategically to boost their brand and connect with their target audiences effectively. Our approach not only navigates through the distorted online landscape but also capitalizes on the opportunities it presents, turning potential pitfalls into platforms for growth and innovation.

Calvert Street's mission is to achieve win-wins for our clients, communities, and people, so we are delighted when organizations like SEIA highlight agrivoltaics opportunities in the clean energy space. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, "Co-location, also known as agrivoltaics or dual-use solar, is defined as agricultural production, such as crop or livestock production or pollinator habitats, underneath solar panels or adjacent to solar panels." Using the same land for both agriculture and solar energy production is a win-win!
"A must... a win-win... a good way to preserve the family farm" WATCH how solar is helping three Indiana farmers expand their operations⚡

Traditionally, Greenways for Nashville’s annual fundraiser is called Under the Bridge and is held outdoors in Cumberland Park in the shadow of the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. But, storms forced a last minute scramble to find an indoor venue and the Musicians Hall of Fame provided a helpful option. Calvert Street Group was pleased to join our clients, Crescent Communities, in attending and supporting one of Nashville’s most important assets, our greenways. Despite the last minute switch, attendance was strong and the mood was upbeat among the greenways supporters. We’re just glad they didn’t re-title this year’s event Under the Municipal Auditorium. Doesn’t have quite the same ring.
