CHA recently became the first hospital in Massachusetts to start using high tech waterproof casts. Chief of Orthopaedics Hans Van Lancker, MD, is always looking for new technology to benefit patients and believes these new resin-filled and 3D printed casts show a lot of promise. “These new lattice casts are FDA-approved and studies show they’re just as effective as traditional casts. They are easy to apply, harden in just a few minutes, and are breathable and waterproof. I’m excited to bring this technology to CHA and see how our patients like them.”

This PACE Month, meet Emma, a CHA PACE patient access representative. "PACE is like a family. For a lot of participants, we are like a second family. For some people we are their only family. Our participants can come to us for anything and because the staff knows them so well and truly cares about each participant, there is that kind of trust that you have with family members."

During PACE Month, meet some of our outstanding PACE staff! This is Norma, an outreach and enrollment specialist who says, "With CHA PACE, members truly get individualized care from the PACE team from the very beginning. From the moment the Enrollment team first meets with potential members and their families they begin the process of tailoring that new enrollees care to their needs. CHA PACE wants to keep their members safe in their homes and because of our unique model of care and our ability to meet with members in their homes we get to know our members in ways that a standard health insurance program would not."

On Monday, 130 golfers, staff and volunteers joined the CHA Golf Invitational at the Nashawtuc Country Club for an afternoon of camaraderie and sportsmanship. We raised more than $130K for hospital initiatives, which include supporting free cancer screenings, sibling support programs, and the CHA Birth Center. Thank you to all our wonderful 2024 sponsors who donated top dollar experiences to make this year’s auction worthwhile. You helped us uphold CHA’s vision of ensuring equity and excellence for everyone, every time.
