A new study led by the Institute for Community Health explores the causes of racial/ethnic inequities in access to opioid use disorder treatment and services in Boston. The study, published by the Journal of General Internal Medicine, analyzed the experiences and perspectives of overdose survivors to understand barriers to accessing substance use disorder treatment and other services.

Community Health Youth Initiatives' Youth Mental Health Ambassadors created a new workshop, "Mind Matters: Empowering Youth for Mental Wellness" which raises awareness about mental health conditions, introduces self-care strategies, and how to help friends access resources available both locally and nationally. The group will refine and adapt the campaigns in the upcoming months after they test the messages with audiences and gather feedback. Last week’s Cambridge/Somerville WIC’s Breastfeeding Party was a great success! Thirty mothers participated in the event to raise awareness about supporting nursing mothers and their breastfeeding journey. The party featured cooking demonstrations, farmer’s market coupons, baby massages, yoga, and more.
